Commanding Officer of the 71st Precinct, Deputey Inspector John Lewis spoke to the community at the monthly Precinct Council Meeting and diccused some of the communities concerns about the police department (NYPD).

Most Jewish people have alot of power in the court system. It would be great if they treated members of the black community like this each time there is an allegation of a officer acting in a condescending manner but most black communities don't really have enough power to have their voice heard .This jewish community is home to many multi millionaire and respected elite society members, that is why the nypd was willing to accommodate the residents needs in fixing the community and police relations.

Why if IAB initially investigated this matter and after viewing the video, they felt that the case should be referred to the civilian review complaint board. Why after political pressure it went back to IAB????.......

He was giving a detailed description. You could as well say the cop shouldn't have been identified as a man, to avoid gender discrimination. That's just ludicrous. I would say he/she who is any color/race should go under the bus for beating an unarmed, unresistant young man half his size for several minutes.

Sounds like the cops are running out of excuses to cover their butts. You were caught!!! Face it and apologize to the poor guy you beat up.

I live in Australia. I have now watched about 200 of these alleged excessive force videos. I conclude that US police, their leadership and judiciary have become desensitised to the consequences of their procedures and behaviour. From a complete outsider's perspective violence by police is the first and all too often preferred option. Is it an intelligence issue? Is it training? Are they pumped up and ready to explode? Overworked? Are they living up to some kind of Hollywood inspired performance? Independent investigation of these incidents rather than Caeser judging Caeser would go some way to reining in a culture that is clearly out of control. An average Australian visiting the US is likely to return home in a box. I have completely abandoned my bucket list plans to visit Smithsonian, the space sites and Montana. Yes. Patriotic Americans are likely to troll me and tell me to fk off and stay home.

So let me get this right...if your officer cuts his knuckles beating my face in I'm the one who is charged with assault. Bullshit!!!

The officers were wrong and by excusing this type of ignorant behavior you relinquish the right to protest public retaliation and civil unrest in response. People are constantly mishandled by government and management at their jobs. Even though people tend to get past that daily as they feel they have no choice it is unlikely that you will convince most people to ignore and excuse this type of direct blatant behavior. People understand if a citizen is attacked it could have been them.
