Some European countries also have branches of their military do civilian policing and law enforcement. Usually called Gendarmerie. They have stricter oversight being a branch of the country's military and subject to military law if they do wrong ie: subject to Court-Martial, going to the Brig/Military Prison, Dishonorable Discharge and equivalent of a felony conviction, barring them law enforcement, security and the like for life. No longer can own or go near a firearm. Cannot work in government in any capacity. No benefits or pension, no certain civilian benefits.
