Excellent video....just bought one A24 here in Sweden. This model however is with a Bluetooth module which tracks events and consumption at the trap. I am a bit concerned about the chap in the video. At 7:14 he claimed he looked into the trap.......that is what kills the mice.,....!?

Alright, GP, I'm going to give this a shot. I, too, recently had a place built in the woods and the first several years I had no mice. Last Fall I started hearing mice in the wall over my bed. My guess is the place has just settled now and there's a gap somewhere along a window, the sill or the vent fan for the bathroom (washroom). No mice INSIDE the main living area (yet), but I've had a bucket outside against that wall for a year now, with mice in it from time to time. I did spray foam around the base of the siding/sill trying to eliminate entry points, but those little buggers find a way still. Even bought a UV flashlight to try to find their entry points via mouse urine/feces. No luck. I will continue to look for the entry point, but I'm willing to spend a little now to avoid larger future problems. Thanks!

Gord, thanks for yet another great tip. Agree with lots of folks getting mice outside before they enter the premises is best. However, reality is they are most likely already inside . So I picked up the A24 Smart Trap with Bluetooth that sends humane kill count, CO2 shots remaining, and has a paste countdown to change it out. Easy to check the app on your be phone and see if I need to discard a mouse! It’s a slick effective unit! Never had any signs of mice until ginger bread house decorations were placed in my walk in attic. Someone didn’t put the candies in a sealed container😂. It’s already working great and the smart sensor upgrade is $65 US. Cheers and happy holidays.

Thx for another very informative video. I have seen those traps and they appear to be very efficient indeed. I like the idea of catching the mice while they are still outside. However, I find them very expensive. FWIW, I have a few Victor electronic mouse traps which I find are a good, economical solution, $30 each on Amazon. I leave them along the outside wall. A bit of peanut butter as bait attracts the mice who are electrocuted. No danger to other pets and very little fuss other than changing batteries. Another solution I use occasionally is to take a plastic container and drill a small hole, (say 3/4 in) and place a snap trap inside. Unlike the Goodnature traps, the mice have to be removed after each kill.

Hi GP, I recall your videos you made 4 years ago, I was interested at that time but considering the cost per unit, I bought various other products. 4 years later, we still have significant mouse issues in our basement. Your video just encouraged me to give it a try, I just bought one! With all products I tried with limited success, I do not have high expectations, but thank you for your advise and taking the time to talk about your experience 4 years later, you can’t have better review then this!

Living in a rural area I can relate. We hired a pest control company to totally seal the house, from mice to raccoons. We have bait traps around and in the house too as other rodents are prevalent here as well. We had bats in the attic, which meant replacing a layer of insulation and replacing the roof vents to remove the points of entry. Nothing is full proof so I am glad I found your video in case we need to add another layer of defence.

Very interesting GP. I went down to my old farm I still do the property maintenance for the new owners. I went in to the shed and heard a rat above me on the wall. So I went to get some baits to throw around only to find the little darlings had eaten a hole through the lid and devoured all the baits. Nothing like sitting on a tractor in summer in Australia you just have to cover every bit of skin because melanomas are not fun. Still recovering from an operation in March this year. 🇦🇺🍺

Hey GP....My problem with mice is that my wife is a die hard animal lover and won't kill a thing! We use Have-A-Heart traps and take the little critters down the road. I'm convinced the same ones keep coming back! I wanted to catch one and dip it's tail in paint to prove it but so far haven't. I have no clue how they get in, but in the Fall here in Vermont is when they really start to become active and end up in my basement!

LOL! Andy, Carol is the same way! So, I just stopped telling her. I don't feel I have been disingenuous, but like you,. catching them live and then releasing them into the forest, just means they will come back. So I don't tell her anymore. This trap is instant and painless. So I feel that it is humane - in fact the trap has been certified in New Zealand - as a humane trap, but for my bride, I just don't tell her anymore. She no longer asks, and I don't offer info. Hope that helps a bit. Cheers!

GP I see you are storing things on the platform that was going to be the spot for the sand and such in a little covered shed. You still need to get that built or your garage to put the equipment away in bro. The cost of lumber should be better by now after Covid and such to get it built. @@GPOutdoors Well you could use that area in Toronto you do videos from every once in awhile to store things if its an extra area. Buy a few green treated posts if that is what you will use for that small area where the sand was going every once in awhile this winter when you have a few extra $'s and when spring comes you will have them to use at that time. Hopefully winter will have the price down without much construction and you can get them cheaper. When spring comes get more of what you will need. Then you are not out all the $'s at once. Dry all winter and ready to go in the spring. Might work for you! Just an idea bro.

Hi GP - fairly recent subscriber, started about 18 mos ago when I was researching my own tractor purchase... Appreciate your recent updated review of this mousetrap (and then I went back to review the older ones). Dumb question: If you only need to check the trap every 6 months, don't the carcasses build up at the bottom of the trap after awhile, and therefore?, and prevent the live mice from accessing the bait? From the vid, there is not a lot of room at the bottom of the stand. Am I missing something? (Perhaps you check the lure and the CO2 cartridge every six months, but take away the victims more frequently?) Hope you can clarify.

Question for GP: I have a few cute and friendly tame squirrels I feed a few peanuts to daily. I really don't want to kill my squirrel friends while I take care of the rats passing through my yard from a nest that is not on my property. I worry they will go after the A24 bait... I’m from a cold climate also and just like to know if you use this outside in really cold weather ? My house is all steel and have not had any issues with mice in the house or attached garage. I do have like 14 snap traps outside that I check on a daily basis. I do have the air trap too does not work as well as the snap trap but I noticed you said you have to make sure there’s good bait smell. Squeezing the chocolate is something I never thought of doing. I checked my bait and it’s still full so I squeezed the bag and it was full. I used the air trap inside the garage last winter and caught nothing so I’d like to see if it works outside in below o weather so I can forget about all the snap traps .

Morning Michael. I had mine out on the proch for about a month in mid winter ( -20+ Celsius) and it still triggered. I almost never saw any victims but I know it worked (cause I filmed it) and I have the counter. The added benefit to having it outside is the local wildlife will take of the victim. LOL. Well, when I put the trap outdoors, the local wildlife ( fox, coyotes, fisher cats etc) take care of the victim. In the crawl space, I remove the victims regularly from the trap but I throw them into the forest because the Lure is not poisonous so it is safe for the forest animals. Cheers!

If your useing mouse traps or poisons inside your cabin your basicly pulling them inside. Think about it your putting food for them inside at there level where they love it. Also mice can climb anything but metal or vinyl siding. Really the best way to keep them out is to close up every hole foundation to roof..sprayfoam isnt going to work.

Great video, again. Please don't use poison baits. The mice eat the poison, then the owls, hawks and martens eat the mice and die. When the predators die back, the mouse population rebounds, with a vengeance. Your basic message bears repeating...Stay Vigilant! John

Hey good day Doug. If you decide, then use those little Lure Strips they give you. I moved the trap around for a few months until I found the perfect spot for it. Where the most mouse traffic was occurring. I am very thankful I found it cause it simply works. For me, in the crawl space, it was right below the wet wall - still the best spot to this date.
