This would work better on those locks that completely hide the pins from view by having you turn the key halfway around before you can even engage the pins. @@Adam-dt9tt Years for Bosnian Bill usually means 3-6 hours. He has a job and more than 1 lock a day to open and I can assure you that if LPL wasn't close to opening it within first 3 hours, he would have gave up that day. Maybe he would have done 2 days more maxing at 10 hours. 3 hours of lockpicking constantly is incredibly straining. Your vision is blurring, your hands aren't at 100% etc. I think he mentioned giving one of the locks that he hadn't managed to open 3 hours, during 3 days. So 1 hour a day. When you don't make progress it is frustrating. Also he watched Bill's video on this, so he probably knew what doesn't work. I have no skill in lockpicking, and so I can't have a true appreciation for your delicate tension and ability to set pins. But your skill in analyzing these locks is wildly impressive. First the half-pick half-impression lock, then finding and picking those magnets, and now identifying this evil pin type...Just wow. Add in that puzzle lock your opened for good measure. You figure out _why_ you can't pick it with astounding deftness, and then the battle is over--you've already won.

Shaping the pins that way is so clever. So easy to overset which gives you false click that actually locks the cylinder and forces you to over release the tension in order to get that notch out which causes the rest of the pins to reset, basically you start over ever time you overset a pin. That is really smart.

You are so far out of the league of most locksport pickers (or professional locksmiths for that matter) that you deserve to be simply called "The Master". Although I try to learn from your videos, most of the locks you pick are so far beyond my ability that I doubt, even with your help, I could ever open them.

This suggests an interesting strategy for making high security locks that might be worth it on computerized production lines. There’s no reason a manufacturer couldn’t make a library of say a dozen or so types of security pins and use them at random so that anyone picking the lock would not know what to expect just by knowing the type of lock.

I think one of the best safety features for a motorcycle disc lock would be to have the keyway perpendicular to the brake disc facing the ground. You can easily enough insert the key upward from below to open it, but lying on the ground next to someone’s parked motorcycle, with your head alongside the rear wheel, dinking around may provoke suspicious interest from others.

True - but in the 'wild' you're never going to see a key to know the pin travels. Even with the key as an indicator it took him a minute and a half this second time as the lock was putting up quite a fight. I should note, however - LPL is a master picker who can pick locks most locksmiths won't even touch. A minute and a half for him is probably going to be an eternity for anyone like us.
