This is 100% identical to the Ambient Weather WS-2000 sold in the United States. Ambient Weather has a much more detailed users manual which may also be helpful considering the manual for this unit has errors.

I've been running a Pantech WH2950 for a year now. Its made by Fine Offset foshk.com the same manufacturer as your Misol. I am in Australia so in setting up the outdoor sensor unit on a pole I had to face it such that its North marking is facing South so that the solar panel is facing North. I had to set the indoor console to STH "Southern Hemisphere" so that wind direction is correct. I'm not sure if your sensor array needs this "Southern Hemisphere" kludge so that the solar panel is facing the Sun. For fun I thought about making my own console using a ESP32 or Raspberry Pi with LoRa module receiving in FSK mode. I can receive the transmissions at 433.92MHz every 16 seconds from the sensor using a USB RTL-SDR and RTL_433 program. These "all in one" sensor units are great for economical easy setup but a bit of a compromise in ideal sensor locating so I find the more recent Ecowitt weather stations like the HP2553 interesting.
@TheDefpom4 жыл бұрын
The solar panel seems to be ok, it isn’t being obscured from what I can tell, sounds like a nice workaround though.

Depends of your latitude.Mine in Cairns 16 degrees South is facing South and no need to re calibrate for southern Hemisphere

I'm sharing this as I'd spent hours trying to work out why my HP2550 wouldn't connect to Ecowitt. The Ecowitt site is by far the most useful for displaying PWS data out of all I've tried. It displays and trends every aspect of my station including all the additional sensors (lightning as well) and the battery levels of each. It updates every minute and will allow you to set up email alerts for whatever you want. The main unit firmware can be updated with this address via an SDHC micro SD card formatted to fat or fat32: www.acpacific.com.au/Downloadable/PT-HP2550/Firmware/1.6.9/user.bin Just copy the user.bin file to the root directory of the card and insert. It will delete this file when finished upgrading and you may just need to power off then on again. The WiFi firmware needs to be updated if your unit is older than several months. This can be done via the 'WS View' app regardless of brand with a few caveats. Both your station and phone need to connected to the same WiFi on 2.4GHz. 5GHz on either will not work. Location setting on phone needs to be on. Ignore the 'Configure New Device' setting as the HP2550 won't be pictured there. Hit 'Back' and 'Menu' then 'Device List'. Your HP2550 should show up here with IP and MAC addresses within a short time. It should prompt you to download and install the latest EasyWeather WiFi firmware which is currently v1.6.0. Tap on this and the firmware should upgrade automatically on your station. You may need to set the Ecowitt upload interval in your station. 1 minute is good. Register with Ecowitt and enter your MAC address as displayed in 'About Display' or 'Weather Server Setup' on your station. All your sensors that show up on Ecowitt can be edited by clicking on the names of each, even the names in the battery level column. The alerts are configurable so play around with it until you are happy.

Thanks for your review. I bought the same model with a PanTech badge, after seeing your video. However, I have an issue. I wonder if you upload your data to Weather Underground or another web server? Do you see any of the temperature graphs flatlining? I'm getting the problem about five times a week and it lasts for about an hour each time. I also subscribed to Ecowitt and found both the outside temperature and humidity were freezing for a while, but the wind and atmospheric pressure were being updated. The supplier gave me a site for upgraded firmware, and I upgraded before I noticed this issue. To me it's either the outside temp/humidity module going to sleep, or the console doing the same thing. Also have you tried to add an additional indoor sensor? I've one from a previous system, which is on 433MHz and addressable as per the manual, but can't get it to communicate with the console. I get email responses from the supplier, but the answers aren't that helpful. We shall see what happens over the next week. Cheers Jim

Mine is communicating ok with all sensors etc. I added soil moisture sensors, air quality sensor, and another couple of indoor sensors, all working fine. It could be that you have some kind of interference source that is effecting the signals from the sensors.
@jimreed65033 жыл бұрын
@@TheDefpom Thanks, but interference would surely affect all measurements on the outside sensor, not just temp and humidity. Also, got hit at 3AM, when it's very quiet around here. Cheers.

Great video, interesting and seemingly well engineered product. Wait, no tear-down??? The word you were searching for is anemometer - a device for measuring wind speed. If they have a temperature sensor with a remote thermistor you could use it to remotely monitor the internal temperature of a piece of equipment :-)

I bought the Pantech HP2550 in Australia in Jan 2019 and couldn't be happier with it. The Aussie seller supplies updated firmware when available. I've had two major firmware upgrades. The Energizer cells in the remote units are still at 1.45V and 1.51V in the station after 21 months. The station has a solar cell and super capacitor which clearly do their job so the AA cells are effectively redundant or for places that experience polar night. I bought 5 extra TH sensors and had all six sitting on the bench reading exactly the same temp and humidity. Incredibly consistent. The extra sensors are only displayed, not logged unfortunately. This may change in a future firmware update. I find Wundeground a terrible site to work with and rarely refer to it. It is slow, clunky and keeps reverting to Fahrenheit. Weathercloud is faster, much more intuitive, displays beautifully and is my go-to, especially from my phone. I never was able to connect to WOW. It's a right pain in the arse.

You need to get accustomed to the unit before making a video.Rainfall season is JANUARY.Absolute barometer reading is where your station is and relative is at sea level pressure.This console Unit is exactly like Ecowitt and ambient and you will love it.
@TheDefpom3 жыл бұрын
As I say over and over again my reviews are done INTENTIONALLY the way they are, to replicate how a new user would find using the unit, I don’t rehearse my reviews and provide kind of fake demos., Rainfall season certainly is NOT January... it usually doesn’t rain at all where I live between mid December and the end of February.
@v8snail3 жыл бұрын
@@TheDefpom The rainfall season setting is for the annual rain totaliser. If January is selected, the annual rainfall will zero then start counting up from the 1st day of January. This is where you want it set to give meaningful year-to-date rainfall measurements even if the actual rain season is mid year.
