Definitely one of the best gottlieb pinball games of the early 70’s. I was 13 when this came out. I saw the technician set it up in the entrance to a Cooks department store and was the first one to play it. I was talking to him and he told me to wait a few more minutes to finish the set up. My mom was in the store and she gave me a quarter to get some candy. I decided to wait it out for a game of pinball instead. It was worth it. I played for almost an hour on one quarter. Back in the early 70’s you would get five games for a quarter with five balls per game. I started to figure out the process to get a free game and had won three more games when my mom showed up to exit the store. A little kid about 8 years old was watching me play and I gave him all those free games. He was so excited. It made me feel good to see him happy. Great memories!!

The very first pinball machine I ever played. Back in 1974 when it was brand new. I was 8 years old at the time. Brings back a lot of memories.

I babysat for a guy who had this machine in his garage. One of my favorite memories, mostly because they paid me to play pinball until 3am. :)

@@iamdrumgod Oh you dog ! Magnatron used to soak up all the quarters my allowance could produce back in '74..........and you got paid to play it. Some guys have all the luck.

It was great seeing this machine in action again. Thank you ! So glad you got the SPECIAL and racked up some games. You really got that ball cookin' on the last ball. My buddy and I used to play this machine at a 7 Eleven store in Belmont, CA back in 1974. This 7 Eleven was the only place close enough to home in the Mid-Bay Area that had a Magnatron, that I knew of. We were in our early teens and weren't driving yet, so it was nice having a fun pinball machine close to home, other wise we'd have to hitch hike to San Carlos and Redwood City to play, or catch a ride to San Mateo going north on the El Camino to play our other favorite pins. Magnatron got a ton of play at that 7 Eleven, there was usually someone playing it when we'd get there anytime , day or night. A few years later, they replaced it with a Pong machine and then there was no more reason to go to there.

I became a true wizard at playing this game. Got the Specials on, more often than not. Used sell my extra games then go to the beach. One of the best games I played. Really a test of skill with the slow flippers to kick the ball where you wanted it to go.
