Thats a good fit job man. Extra panels are never a bad thing to have.

Looks good are you using weld thought primer? Highly recommends it.
@avartis13 жыл бұрын
Curious, why you did use some of that Rust Proofing Weld Primer I have seen used by others before? Especially on the back side to combat Future Rust.

I've gotta to do floor pans, inner/outer rockers and the same size section of cab corner on my 86. do you recommend doing the cab corner before the rockers or no?

Use an epoxy primer 1st. Use filler over primer. Filler attracts moisture. Epoxy primer will act as barrier. Finish the filler. Prime over all. Paint to preference.

Do you find it easier to keep the doors on for this? Seen many videos and some have doors off and some don’t. To line up contours, I’m working on a 85 k20 and have a lot of rust on cab corners and rocker panels and have a chance to buy a 73 cab instead.

what is your setting for your wire feed welder please.

Did you get any warping from running beads instead of using stitch/spot welds and spacing them out?
@JCustomFab2 жыл бұрын
No warping

Why not cut panel out higher where side trim moulding is. Would help hide welds and filler that is not perfect when new trim is put on.

@JCustomFab3 жыл бұрын
I purchased my cab corners from lmc truck... They're a little more expensive but the sheet metal is thicker

Why grind on rust, I like the sandblaster, doesn't use up the good metal, am I wrong, here to learn? I've just sandblasted to see what's good. If the sandblaster goes through it, it ain't good enough, if it don't it is.
@scottmcburney893810 ай бұрын
Also, no ospho?
@scottmcburney893810 ай бұрын
Hey thanks for the video, in no way do I think I'm right and You're wrong, really just the opposite, am I doing shit wrong, I sandblast and ospho everything I can, everything I can paint anyway.
@JCustomFab9 ай бұрын
I like the sandblasting too. But when you can't get one over there. In the timely fashion, then you're just gotta do with what you got at the moment. But if you look at later on in my videos it was sandblasting.
