It seems the most common mistake people make when welding back together is not welding insides first, this leaves a good finish that doesn't need to be ground unless installing inner rail section and makes easier to back grind root pass from outsides for final welding, but each to their own !

Nice work brother!! I shortened mine crew cab down, but one thing I haven’t been able to come up with is what to do about the parking brake. How are you going about shortening the cable to keep the parking brake?
