Having done this a month ago on a 72 cb750, I think you took the hard option, I laid it on the side, bolted the engine in and stood it up by myself, surprising how balanced it all was

Just dropped my new engine in its an 750 bored 60 over so its an 810. But we did it differently. 2 patio bricks, 1floor jack and two men on both sides one on the left one on the right and got it way quicker then making a jig to put it in place. Just finishing up carbs, hoping to be on the road this weekend .Nice bike, clean motor. Thanks for the vids.

I really enjoyed your videos ( I binged - found then when I was looking on how to do fiberglass on a corvette), I have learned a number of items. I'm always surprised by the know it alls - "Oh you need a better camera, Oh you need to do this, Oh you need to do that" Reminds me of arm chair quarterbacks on Monday morning - I like to call them ID10Ts. Love your cats - my cats are the same way - want to be around while you are doing something. Shamus reminds me of a cat that my daughter had - Peach Stripes - looked a lot like Shamus except for the weight. anyway, I look forward to the videos and the outcome.

Believe it or not, I've done this by myself. Twice. And I'm a fairly wimpy guy. I maneuver it close as I can with a floor jack, then lean over with my chest on the frame and grab either side of engine, round near the crankshaft, lift and wiggle it in.
@rudyvk9 жыл бұрын
Good to see someone try this another way. However, now I get why a lot of people are like: I will just drop it on its side and put the engine in that way. Nice to have the engine in!

jenny666barnish Well done! It was indeed the transporter sound from the original series. It's the notification sound on my cell phone. The ring tone is the sound from the bridge scanner. I found them on this website: www.trekcore.com/audio/ I had to download the sound, edit it, then upload it to my phone. :)

If you leave the breather cover off it gives you more room to install the engine. Install it before you bolt the engine in place as 1 of the long screws in close to an upper frame rail. You can also grind the upper "ears" on the front, lower engine mounts. My wife hasn't helped me put in a CB750 engine BUT she has helped me install an FJ1200 and CBR 600F3 engine

Getting closer and closer. I nice addition to the bike when it gets closer is a "Gripace" pushbuttons, it would clean up the handlebars a lot, looking into installing it myself.

that brings back memories of 40 years ago. I had a dolly I made that I would roll up to the frame and I would lift the engine in myself. I miss my Honda 750. I had several including a 1969 that someone took apart then lost interest. The good old days of big bore kits 836cc Mikuni 26mm smooth bore. I actually remember when there was nothing close to one liter. No Kawasaki 900, you wanted a one liter bike you had to make it...ha ha ha ha

Love your work, I'm learning a lot. Excellent idea with the wooden engine lifter! I had a thought though...perhaps it would have been easier to use the jacks on either side of the wooden handles(while it's already passed thru the frame) to raise the engine just a touch higher than the frame and leave it stationary. Then you could maneuver the frame itself to where the engine is mountable. Leave the heavy lifting to the jacks. Works out in my head, not sure about in reality though. Keep em coming!
@Francey47824 жыл бұрын

Deepak Talan Won't make that much difference unless I spend a crap ton of money, and then the edit and render times will be longer, my CPU will be at it's limit again and I'll need a faster computer. I'm at a point right now where the 1080p video I work with can be handled with ease on my current machine, which I recently upgraded.
