I looked at both the hair and the house! She is one blessed African woman! She has a great husband, beautiful kids, she doesn't have to work if she doesn't want to. She doesn't really discuss her relationship with God in her videos. That is the only thing I believe would make her life any better, on top of her happy family life, that peace that passes all understanding that comes from a relationship with God.

Hello to all of those with dreadlocks or are thinking of getting dreadlocks, I would like to share some words from my 14 years’ experience with locks. I decided to lock my hair because I did not like the putting chemical in my hair anymore, especially after my hair fell out when my mom decided she would do it to save money. I started with a nice thick size locks, then shaved it all when it was past my shoulder because I saw a lady with sister lock and decided I wanted to get one. That lasted for two years and I decided to go back to dreadlocks. To do so, I started to lock three to four of the sister locks together. It worked and since then I have cut my hair three times every time it grows past my shoulders. I love having locks and would never go back to chemicals. I find it freeing as I can swim, exercise and wash my hair anytime I want. Yes, I said anytime I want I was my hair, to be exact, I wash my hair every other day and in the summer, I wash it almost every day. Now I know some people believe that if you have locks, you should wash it once a week or even longer once every three weeks. I am here to tell you that I have never abided by that rule. I like to exercise, I use to run competitively but now I just go to the gym six times a week. I sweat a lot and my hair gets wet with exercise causing me to wash my hair after the gym. However, if time is constrained, I would blow dry my scalp dry. I do this because I honestly cannot stand having sweaty scalp and stinky hair. This is my routine when I wash my hair: 1) I dry it for one minute or less with a towel 2) Put my hair in a bun 3) Take one at a time and twist it in the same direction every time, it is important to twist it while it is wet, this is how it stays twisted 4) If you feel your hair is dry and need moisturizer, you can put oil in it while twisting by dipping your finger in oil for every strand, or you can twist first then rub the oil in palm and put in hair. One thing I have learned is that the more you wash your hair the longer it grows and it locks faster. Also, one would not need to use the concoction people come up with like baking soda water, lemon water, vinegar water to remove build-up and smells. Just wash it more often and I promise you, your hair will still lock and it will not fall out. My hair never smell and I do not use gels to lock it. African textured hair is made to lock without using all the concoction people come up with that ends making your hair smell. I do not use any tool to lock it I just twist it in the same direction every time and I wash it every other day. I also do not use oil, I only do so in the winter when my hair feels to dry. I tend to use a shampoo that has a moisturizer in it like Shea moisture (Manuka Honey and Mafura oil intensive hydration shampoo), it is made by a Sierra Leone family and can be purchased on amazon. It takes me 15 minutes to twist my hair. When I started, it took about 30 -45 minutes but as I kept doing it, I picked up speed. The purpose of this comment is to share other ways of caring for your locks, free yourself from uncomfortable hair smells and using concerted homemade hair spray to get rid of the smell. It is that easy, washing it often is safe and you still get your hair locked. Hope this was helpful.
