Hi Adanna! 😊👋 I relax my hair, but I love your hair and am curious how often do you wash your hair using this process? I love your adorable family. 😊❤ I love the relationship you and David share. 😊❤

This is exactly how I wash mine and I've had them since 2007!! Shampoos were too stripping and I've found that the baking soda and acv makes my hair pretty soft as well lol. Castille soap is the only wash I use now. Oils don't moisturize mine however so I've found that Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Loc & Braid Butter worked pretty well but I ran out of it and just started using the Sunny Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil Pure Butter and my ohmy! I'm from the Caribbean and so it's quite humid but this butter seems to be the only light weight that keeps my hair feeling soft, neat after a retwist and moisturized for a long time.

Thanks for sharing Adanna. My question is, How often do you do this routine? I like how your hair is fluffy, I feel most salonists insist on over rolling, making the locs really thin. You look gorgeous, as usual. No pressure. :)

I also put peppermint and tea tree oil in a bottle with water when styling or freshening my locs. The ACV rinse is the best! I also add lemon juice to the ACV and baking soda :)

Hi Adanna, the question I have is, how often do you usually wash and maintain your locs? Because your locs should not have so much buildup at the roots. As a loc stylist, I can tell you that all you need is a good shampoo, conditioner, and grooming product for your locs, because the apple cider vinegar, and baking soda mixture is going to eventually have your hair dry, brittle and eventually start to shed, which leads to breaking. I would also recommend that you not use coconut oil as a leave in, to maintain your locs. Yes coconut oil is wonderful, and have so much wonderful benefits, but I wouldn't leave it in locs, as it tends to grab and hold dirt, sweat and causes buildup. I would recommend that you use it in a deep treatment mix, and rinse it out. The damage in locs takes some time to start showing its effects, and since you are still a loc newbie, you may not be experiencing any damage/dryness/brittle hair, as yet, however, you will in the long term. Also, I highly recommend that you get a hooded hair dryer, as your hair will start to smell funky the longer it gets, and if not being dried properly. You may check out my work at @locticianmarie1 on instagram, just to see the results of my work, and no this is not to get attention for myself. I love what I do, and want to see ALL the loc rockers, rocking beautiful, but most importantly, HEALTHY locs. One love. :-)

Marie Wilson Thanks for sharing your opinion as a loc stylist because I am a bit doubtful about the effectiveness of what’s mentioned in the video. Can you please recommend some of the best brands you for fighting buildup? Thank you very much in advance.
@MarieinFlorence
@MarieinFlorence 5 жыл бұрын
@@nandeenandee2078 Design Essentials makes great shampoos and conditioners, wash thoroughly. Although if you have preexisting build up, it will take some time to get rid of it. Be sure to stay away from gels, wax, coconut oil, castor oil, Jamaican Mango and Lime, shea butter. Remember your hair is locked, and products tend to get trapped in your locs, so avoid products that doesn't wash out easily.
