Makes sense in painting the whole car as prob take the same time in addressing the rough spots than to spray complete . 👍

I am curious what kind of high fill primer you used. I am a long way from paint, but trying to absorb as much as possible. Also, if I'm not mistaken you did a base coat clear coat on this car. Does this eliminate the need for buffing compounds and polishing to make it shine? Any info will be appreciated! Thx!

Sorry for the delayed response. The primer I’ve been using is Evercoat Feather fill. Slick sand, and super build are made by the same company and over basically the same results. All are very good and honestly if you sprayed all 3 with no labels you couldn’t tell them apart. The base / clear vs the single stage. I’ve used. A lot of both but recently have stuck with the base / clear as it seems to be performing better and hardening better. The only reason you would cut and buff would be to remove orange peel and or trash in the paint. The 73 is done in base clear and I did not cut and buff it.

No painting the interior?

No customer just wanted to freshen up the exterior. Just a quick daily driver paint job.

question: at 4.45 you remove some metal strips, but don't replace them?
@Gregsvwgarage Жыл бұрын
Correct. I removed the hood and decklid seal channels. I replaced them with the Mexican style hood and decklid seals that attach to the hood and decklid instead. You can see this on the latest video I posted of the car finished. Much cleaner look.
