I am the bloke in the first fight with no t-shirt on. Yes I know I lost haha but I did box in the regiment and no this has nothing to do with boxing.... You are not allowed to block or dodge as of such. Its literally give what you can and take what's coming. Good fun really. You do not fail if you lose. There are other events in p coy you can straight up fail but this is not one. I went on to the regiment and served in Afghanistan but I was medically discharged a couple years ago... if the British state school system had replicated the 'public' (Eton etc) school system that have historically been designed to produce competent generals and statesmen then our country would be in much better shape. Instead we have English literature classes teaching children that masculinity is toxic. I really dont know why when education was made compulsory 100 years ago they didn't copy the fine traditional public schooling system all over the country and I think it might be because compulsory education is not about education but about social engineering and indoctrination.
@I7275-p2d3 жыл бұрын
@@lmn6440 yes the public school system has produced excellent leaders. Just look how Boris Johnson has handled COVID. Imagine if someone educated in a state school who had read some literature would have fared. We might have had the worse public health disaster in British history.

Great guts by all. In our small martial art club we do this on occasions, albeit on our knees so not to get to smashed about (work the next day) however any one who says this is scruffy etc should try it I know on the knees you do lose a lot of power but you cannot move away. I think the worst bit is waiting your turn, anyway great video and well done to ALL in this video. Fantastic Regiment, wish I was young again.

I did milling when I did the Para selection. Really important part of the training. takes some courage to do it though. Its important because it is meant to be an expression of all out aggression and real fighting spirit. something that is necessary for combat soldiers to do. the tactics in milling is not what is important. It is necessary for a soldier to try hard and fight hard. Thats why even if you lose and get beaten physically in a match you can still win the match if have shown your courage, grit and determination.

When u attempt to gain the maroon beret, U have to prove u have what the Reg wants. Fighting Spirit. And the ability to express it. Battlefields can b utterly brutal places. And if u panic, run, hesitate whilst on it, u endanger not just yourself, but others around you. Hence this test. They want to see what you're made of. They want to see confidence, getting up, even if u r constantly knocked down. in a way, the choice if the Regiments beret colour, is apt. Spartan maroon. Or u could compare them to Naploeons Guard. Or Hitler's SS. The Regiments that get given the tougher jobs.
