Terrific overview of the tool, thanks for taking the time to make these videos as they are very helpful. I saved this for later in my cart at Amazon it was 1399. Then a week ago there was a 250 coupon so down to 1149 but held off till yesterday, Prime Day it was 1049 and got it. This morning it’s back at 1149 with the 250 coupon.

What type of features are available for Mercedes Sprinter vans? Chassis 906 and 907.

Go with a US make and model scanner if you have older American vehicles. For example neither my 1999 F-250 PowerStroke 7.3 nor my 2001 Dodge Dakota are supported by xTool with no data profile update in sight.

@@johnjauregui3528 Those should be supported but they may not auto detect, you have to manually input year make and model. That is a limitation of the manufacturers module.

@@737mechanic "Should be" but are not either by auto detect or manual. Clearly you don't speak from experience. Try a 2001 Dodge Dakota or 1999 F-250 7.3

@@johnjauregui3528 Your right I don't speak from experience as far as those exact vehicles but the experience I speak from is on vehicles before about 2000 a lot of makes and models will not autodetect with any scanner and I have seen people think there machine will not work because it isn't auto-detecting the vehicle but the reason they don't auto-detect is because the manufactures did not program the modules so they could be auto-detected. Did you send a report to xtool letting them know the problems so they can fix it?

@@johnjauregui3528 It depends on make and model. That was around the time when manufactures started programming their modules so a scan tool was able to auto detect the year make and model before that you always had to enter the year make and model manually on all scan tools. My first scan tool was a snap on MT2500 and there was no auto detect on any car.

For IMMO this scan tool has the best support than any other scan tool, the only thing better for IMMO is a dedicated key programmer, Ford module replacement yes. GM and dodge is year make and model specific.

Basically D9S & D9S PRO are just similar except online ECU coding for few European cars.

What happened to Gm? BTW the gold standard for key programming is the Autel im608 it does everything that xtool does and more that’s why it’s $3500

Yes, the $3500,00 Autel IM608 is a dedicated key programmer so it should program all cars at that price. The $1000.00 D9S will program many more keys than any other actual scan tool plus has more active tests and special functions than the IM608.

It depends on the year make and model. I believe the same goes for the Autel also.

No, this scanner is NOT auto auth compatible. They make an IP919 that is auto auth compatible, but it is not available on Amazon for some reason. Launch makes a comparable scanner that is auto authority compatible here. amzn.to/3VQ09I8 Remember to be able to use any scan tool on Chrysler products after 2018 you will need to purchase an auto authority 1 year membership for $50 and have a scan tool auto auth compatible.

@@737mechanic actually it does work on the newer Dodge ram trucks and cars. You just need a bypass cable

@@SMOKEY-JAYS-DIESEL When I received the Xtool D9S Pro I was under the impression that all Xtool D9 scanners were AutoAuth compliant so I emailed xtool and they confirmed that the the D9 Was NOT autoauth compliant and they told me that the only xtool scanners that were are the IP919 and the IP900.

No, this scanner is not autoauth certified but the launch x431 Pro3 ACE is and it is a little cheaper and has equivalent functions. amzn.to/3zAHqZH
