“Knackered” then salad? Then salad again? That’s crazy. Otherwise, great video. Thanks for posting. Kenny in Arkansas, USA.

Our pleasure! There was energy left just not enough power in the legs to cope with the high intensity of the tandems reduced gearing compared to our winch gears on the solo bikes. Thanks for taking time to comment. K&L

I've watched Simon's video and I think you both capture different aspects of the rally really well. I've also seen your 2022 videos and it's all very inspiring. Thanks for making videos to keep us entertained and informed 🙂

Thanks! I was grateful to Steve who was on the rally and had recorded a few clips as well. It was nice to be able to show a few more faces! Everyone's ROAM is different, it's quite a unique event!

There will soon be a route to link Galloway Forest and into Ayrshire - plus you can ride quite bit of the SU Way - so many ways to link Galloway with the East - Great to see you all and give a little interview for Simon.

I follow Simon Willis and watched your videos back to back. What an amazingly versatile format for a cycling event! I confess I don't have the skills or the strength to do what you do but the less gnarly options look very attractive or maybe mixing it up a bit on various segments. Anyway, thanks for posting such an enjoyable trip. The detour and high camp you did was also a fantastic video. On a more serious note, I very rarely get angry these days but details about the bike thefts made my blood boil. I hope the thieves are caught and dealt with but sadly, I suspect they won't be.

Hi Pete, thank you for coming to the channel and watching our experience. It really is a brilliant event. I hope to do a video in the future about preparing for something like ROAM Scotland Rally. We are always finding an excuse for a wee detour! More often than not it leads to a bit of a hike a bike! Yes, we were really upset and frustrated at the thefts, they lost their bikes and the opportunity to experience the rally. We lost the opportunity to ride with some really lovely people who would have brought a lot of joy and good humour to the event.

Hi Pete. It truly is a very inclusive, welcoming and relaxed event. You can very much pick and choose what you fancy between the rugged and rolling routes, dipping in and out of them both if you wanted to. Both official routes are very rideable on a gravel bike, so any bits that look a bit rougher on our video are where we have gone rogue!

Fabulous video and I do love Scotland scenery. Shocking about the German people's bikes. Crap advertisements for Scotland 🤬🤬

Thanks for the kind words Dave, scenery in Scotland is fantastic, just pair it with some good weather and no midgies and it's as good as anywhere in the world 🌍!

You need to sort out your sound as right at the start and subsequently when you are narrating over your map at the start and when sitting in your mock up studio in front of your bikes sound only comes out of the left channel not both. I am deaf in my left ear and cannot swap ear pieces as they are sided, so cannot swap my earpiece of the left to my right ear. It won't fit. I think in post production of your video in what ever editing suite you use you need to balance the sound output channels. I have experienced this once before with another YT channel which I liked, but unfortunately the guy whose channel it was really quite arsey when I made him aware, so I did not continue watching nor subscribe. I subscribe to hundreds of YT channels and 99.9% of the time have no such issues as sound is properly balanced. Such a shame I cannot hear your video because of this imbalance. Your sound and chat when out riding on your bikes on the route is fine as it comes through both left and right channels and I can hear with my right ear. Sorry to be awkward, but it is a problem for viewers like me with hearing impairment. The backing music which I can hear as it comes through both left and right channels is a little too heavy and doesn't seem to fit with the ride. Just watched Simon Willis' video which was brilliant and he recommended yours ...........

Hi Alex, will get back to you in more detail once I get a chance to look into the cause, sorry it didn't work out perfectly. We are fairly new to video production, and learning all the time. Good to know of the issue and I'm sure we'll be able to resolve it! Every day is a school day! Other than the sound issue did you enjoy the video?
