Amazed every time I see this that 747 did not get seriously injured from that brutal fight, the durability and recovery powers of Bears is incredible - just a nightmare season for 747 in 2019 turned into a Dream season for him in 2020 topped off by winning Fat Bear Week (although 68 would be one of my suspects on who tore off 747's ear before the Cams came on last year, maybe he made he mistake of wandering through 68's new territory on his way to the falls) - Can't wait to see what 2021 has in store for him.

747 has only been the most dominant for one season the year 856 was injured.856 has returned this year as the most dominant bear 747 yielded the Jacuzzi to him yesterday without even a confrontation.

Just seen this amazing video. Clearly 747 was beaten by Bear 68 who held him under at one point. However I see that 747 was today voted fattest bear this year by Katmai’s park rangers. So whatever happened here did not cause him to eat less!

68 didn't show this year, so he didn't even get into the brackets for voting. 747 really is the fattest bear at over 1400 lbs and received over 47,000 votes by viewers to win fat bear.

Cruiser Is 68 ok? Must be unusual for a bear not to show at the falls when the salmon are running.

@@mikefriend1514 It's quite possible that 68 found another fishing spot this year as it was one of the largest salmon runs ever, however, we never know if a bear doesn't return if something happened to that bear. Such is the case with 409 Beadnose who won the fat bear contest in 2018 and we have never seen her again and can only imagine that she may have died. ☹️
