A look at the new M9A4, and how it compares to the M9A3. Only complaint on the M9A4 (well...as least with mine...) is its heavy trigger pull.

I've noticed that overtime the trigger breaks in. Initially the trigger was very heavy, after dry-firing once a day and running 200 rounds through it, the trigger pull weight has definitely gone down.

I kinda figured (and hoped) that might happen. Thanks for the info!

Yeah my A3 & A4 were essentially the same. The only way you can tell the difference is with a scale. As for real life live fire your not gonna notice anything.

Thanks for sharing. Always wanted an A3, got a nice bonus, now the A4 appears on the scene. I would reach out to Beretta about the trigger. Not uncommon when something new gets released that some manufacturing or quality kinks need to be ironed out (or not).

My A3 has a 3.5 lb pull very smooth and crisp. The A3 is made in Italy 🇮🇹 The A4 is made in Tennessee! I had purchased a 92X (also Tennessee made) and the barrel looked like it was drilled by a Dewalt hand drill ! All scratched up lands and grooves and Would not come clean ! Checked 3 other 92X versions and same shit! Got the A3 and super happy! I hope the Tennessee plant gets it together I would rather have bought the Made in USA version !

Had both of them as well the A3 & A4 but just didn’t see the point in owning both. I had a very comparing the two but gotta love ex’s. So I pulled all my reloading casting and reviewing videos, personally I didn’t notice any difference between them. Both were brand new off the show room floor. I think you just need to run them the more you cycle them and shoot them the better the trigger is going to get.

Hopefully you've gotten it checked out I have mine and the trigger seems completely different sounding in everything, super lite trigger pull measures at a average 5 pounds (feels like 4 lol inner weather man) but very smooth only has about 175 rounds so she's not worn out

I put the same D hammer spring in my m9a4 as I did all my other 92’s. Makes the trigger pull about the same as the m9a3.

I have seen this comments of the m9a4 trigger, to be honest, I am a bit scared of mine right out of the box. feels like a 2 pound trigger in single action and a 6-7 in double action. Very good trigger. Maybe I was just lucky.
@alexmendez7132 жыл бұрын
dang 7 pound driver on single action crazy, think yours its a fluke trigger my beretta m9a4 never test it but feel like 3.8 4 pound trigger at most 5 pound hope you get it resolved

Lmao that’s funny about that trigger! Heavy for sure but don’t let that bother u too much. My A4 is around 4.2lbs SA pull. It’s just a brand new ass spring in there and it will last u a very long time. Mine was heavy at first also but it never bothered me when I actually went out and shot it.

I have a theory about the A3 vs A4. This is my own humble opinion, but it seems like the A3 was a legit pistol that was taken very seriously by Beretta to enter into the pistol trials. That means a lot of energy was put into it to become a service weapon. The same can be said for the Glock, FN509 and the Sig that won. It kinda seems like the A3 is “real” duty pistol and the A4 was more targeted for the civilian market. For example, a subjectively more aesthetic matching color and a questionably stable red dot mounting platform. Basically, both are really great, but the A3 might be a little more no nonsense.

I've got the wilson combat centurion 92 with about a 4lbs trigger in it. Recently picked up the m9a4, and it is roughly the same, has a lighter double action, probably in the 9lbs range, and has one of the shortest resets I've experienced on a pistol. This is coming from a PPQ owner. That being said I've already put about 1000 rounds through it. I'd say shoot it, measure it, and if you still dont like it the LTT is the way to go. I myself will be keeping it stock.

Maybe it’s not fully broken in yet and still very new that’s why it feels so heavy

Does A4 frame feels more durable than the a3 the 92FS feels more harder of aluminum than the A3
@74duster3182 жыл бұрын
I'm currently still a fan of the A3 over the A4. Primarily because of its "out of box" feel. Especially, the trigger pull. It'll be a while before I can get more time to out it through its paces, sadly.
@larrylambert51932 жыл бұрын
Just wondering if you ever got the trigger resolved, my a4 breaks at 3.8 to 4.2lbs. Nor does it make a sound like that.
@74duster3182 жыл бұрын
I have not. I seem to never get a chance to go to the range anymore. Between, never ending medical crap, and trying to visit family on time off, it will be quite a while for me to get some time with it. I'll update whenever it is that I get around to it.

I agree. It's a bit excessive. Kind of a drawback with this platform.

Most likely the reason for the heavy trigger pull is because you have a G model.
