Just bought a 75 nova for use as a daily driver. Solid, dependable, no electronics. Can't be beat.

I had a 1975 Nova in high school. Mine was the most upscale model you could get for the time. It was called the Nova LN which stood for "Luxury Nova". Cloth bucket seats, center console w/floor shift, cloth door inserts, air conditioning, power locks, rear window defogger and a 350 cubic inch V8 are just a few things the LN Nova came with.

It's hard to believe there was a time in America there was a market for simple, economical vehicles.
@toronado4552 жыл бұрын
There was a market for small cars, but the Nova is about the smallest thing GM put any effort into. The smaller cars (Vega, Chevette, Cavalier, etc) were all junk.

yes, but one could replace the headgaskets under a tree on a single saturday afternoon. today, the car needs a lift, and the entire powertrain dropped out the bottom. copper radiators, steel mufflers, and natural rubber gaskets were the downfall for all those cars back then.
@nlpnt4 жыл бұрын
Basically a four-door Camaro; this is the base-base model but you could go full Brougham with a '75 LN or '76-7 Concours until they cut the top line off for '78 to make way for the downsized Malibu. I suspect most cars ordered to dealer stock had the full wheel covers, white stripe tires and side moldings, and the standard interior had that nasty molded-pattern vinyl but the cloth option was a nice plaid and cheap (maybe even no extra cost?) so that was the way to go.

@pcno28327 жыл бұрын
I don't know if the passengers would agree that this car had "room for 6"; maybe he's talking about chimpanzees. My parents bought a Malibu solely because they couldn't find a way to shoehorn my under 6' body into the back of a Nova. It had a longer wheelbase than the downsized 1978 Malibu, but the extra inches were under the hood to support the weigh of the big block V8s that were no longer offered, so there was a lot less legroom. The 1975 Seville had the body of a Nova, but it was stretched 3.5" in the back seat to make it bearably comfortable.
@jasonhsu47114 жыл бұрын
Those "compact" Novas were boats! How could something so big have so little rear seat legroom? It's not a Corolla, Civic, Vega, Pinto, or Monza.

@Spurs19921993 Жыл бұрын
@Lamborghini: I mean the price for inflation today. In other words, at its cost at the value of the dollar today. You can't compare this car to a new 2023 car because this 1975 Chevy didn't come with many of the extras that come with the new cars of the last years. Therefore, its value without these extras and equipment would not exceed $25,000. A car with all the extras and accessories of 2023 that it did not bring in 1974 if it was between $35,000 and $40,000 I prefer these Nova from 1975 to 1979 that a new car.
