Wow. I'm really surprised a company that makes sliders just told everyone how to make their own for alot cheaper. I own the carbon slider and I love it. Thanks for the tips! Go Rhino!

Well done! I was looking at a slider dolly system for almost $300. And the I looked at it, the more I realized I could build my own. And the way yours is built and finished, it looks professional enough to bring on shoots. Subscribed!

I just made mine! it is just amazing! you guys are awesome, a company that shows their customers how to build a slider on a low budget, giving them them options without you guys making profit just shows how much you guys care for customer service. As soon as I have the money I will buy a professional slider from you guys. Awesome work.

you guys are killing me, I have thought about building the diy slider, and then I found Rhino sliders! LOL so I was set on just buying a rhino cause I know I could build my own but it would never work as well as anything I could just buy.... and then you come out with this video lol, now I want to build own from scratch again

I've been wanting to make a Dana Dolly budget alternative and this looks like it'll hit the spot! If I want to make a more robust version to handle more weight, what conduit pipes should I use? I also like that if you travel far distance to shoot, you can just buy conduit pipe at the local hardware store when you arrive on location. Just bring the carriage and end pieces.

Love the premise of the video: lost luggage and replacement slider. Some of my clients call me MacGyver, for coming up with solutions like this. But, odds are pretty good the tripod head would have been in the lost luggage with the slider. Hmmm..... LOL!

What do you estimate the maximum load being? Could you use a C300-sized camera on here? Where do you recommend drawing the line? Please answer honestly, as I absolve you of all liability in asking this question and won't sue you if the slider breaks and my camera falls to its death. Also, if your recommended limit is only a DSLR-sized camera, could you recommend ways of reinforcing the track and/or carriage to allow larger cameras? Perhaps alternate building materials?

what kinda load do you guys think this takes? Too higher the capacity just get thicker rods?
@llleolllolll10 жыл бұрын
***** thats a good point. I'm just thinking that the head alone weighs in at a at 4lbs. Add in a 5d and a 24-70 and we're already close. Shorter rails should also higher the capacity, i'll try it out after finding all the parts here in europe :P
@randomperson-yk3kt9 жыл бұрын
leolol if you find your camera is weighted to the front because of the lens just counter weight it at the back, maybe a weighted handle i dunno but just counter ballance and this rig would work fine with bigger lens

Maybe you have already thought about this, but i suggest by me to list this slider in ebay and sell it, many buyer will apply to you and will buy from you this slider if price will be 75 itself cost+25$ (for example) your job cost + 20-25$ for shipping to Armenia (for example my country) + ebay+paypal Brokerage price/cost. i will buy from you with Pleasure! Nice job!

The point of making thee video was so YOU could make it. It wasn't so the company that produced the video could make it and sell them to you, they already make and sell their own equipment.

any idiot can figure out how to make a slider. At least...that was my hope... but yours was simple, elegant, and all the work you put into the pdf and video and shopping list saved me hours of doing my own idiot thinking. Of all the DIYs I've seen on this this is my favorite. Except for that compression you have on the mic in the first shot. Made my head hurt. If you have that shotgun going into the DSLR I'd turn off any wind cut or compression.
