I completed my Eagle Scout Project with Preston Tucker III here in AZ back in 1999. He told me so many stories about his family and the Tucker Torpedo. As a car guy I was elated to have such an opportunity to chat with the descendant of the legendary automobile. Not only was I able to finally accomplish my goal of attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout, but I also learned so much about the Tucker Torpedo _and_ the fisheries habitat(s) throughout the lakes of Arizona. Although, Mr. Tucker no longer had a Torpedo in his possession, he was still interested in cars. However, his new passion was old military vehicles rather than classic cars or what not. I have photos (of myself with Mr. Tucker) at my parents house that I will eventually donate to an automotive museum before my time is up. Nevertheless, prior to my Eagle Scout Project, I had never heard of the Tucker Torpedo. Needless to say, I was enamored after a short time with Mr. Tucker. It was truly an honor and a privilege. Stay classy my friends. *All these years later and I _still_ cannot place Preston Tucker III among the family tree. If the Tucker's happen to be watching this, would/could you kindly clarify? Please and thank you. *EDITED for forgetfulness.

Hi Bert, Preston III would have been the son of Preston's oldest son, Preston Jr. Preston Jr. was our grandfather John's brother. Our grandfather John was Preston's youngest son. Thank you so much for sharing the story of our project!

One of the most important cars ever. Not only because of its safety features but also because it put the big three in contrast.

Man! Definitely one of my all time favorite classic car design! And car for that matter! Too bad the crooked government and big three killed his dream! You imagine how innovative and modern a new Tucker today would look! I’m so glad that almost all of them survived the chopping block!🙏♥️😎👍 the man was way ahead of his time!

I've seen 2 Tucker cars in person. First at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan and the second at a museum in Murdo, South Dakota. Hopefully someday, I'll get the chance to see one in motion. For now I can watch it on video.

I do wish the announcer would have stopped talking and the music stopped so we could hear what a real Tucker sounds like ! ! !

Saw my first Tucker in person at the Museum of Speed in Lincoln NE. The car was beautiful and looked like it set trends we have today. I apologize I didn’t know what number it was.

If he cut his bread, Sean Tucker would look like his great grandfather Preston Tucker, an almost great image of him. The 1948 Torpedo ws ahead of its time. But GM, Ford, and Chrysler wanted him out the picture because Preston Tucker had a dream.

Tucker could have made one of the best cars, some innovations were abandoned due to financial problems but it remembers me the case of the Citroën DS, also way ahead of the rest. And then Ford only can come up with the Edsel 🤣

How about a license plate that says " TUCK-YOU" ?

The narrator said there were 50 Tuckers built. That is incorrect -- there were 51 built. I know it is only 1 number off, but facts are facts. I remember back in the mid to late 1980's there was a Tucker for sale in one of the Auto Shopper books that were sold at convenience stores and anywhere that magazines were sold. It was priced at a mere $5000. I was in my teens and still in highschool and actually had enough money saved up to where I could have bought it but I was saving that money for after highschool when I was going to go to a Vo-Tech for auto body so didn't pursue buying that Tucker, even though my father told me that I should do it as an investment even if it meant putting off going to Tech school for a few years or so. My dad would have bought it himself but didn't have the funds and with his being on social security disability he couldn't get a loan. I wish now that I had listened to him and bought the car. Instead I saved the money and went to school for auto body and wasn't in the trade for very long before I had adverse reactions to the isocyanates in the paints and was forced out of the field. Being a classic car nut and now a former collectors car and parts collector or should I say now former car and parts hoarder I would have probably still had that car today or at least until a few years ago (I sold nearly everything off a few years back due to health issues). Hindsight is 20/20 or should I say hindsight is 20-40/20 as hindsight shows things in greater detail with the ability to see all of the variables in a situation from the past.

Can they go back and start manufacturing Tuckers again? These new cars are all bloated junk.
