Alright, the truck is almost done. In this video we investigate the engine damage on the 6.0l. We've had a lot of comments asking about the engine and folks thought we jumped to conclusions but there is a lot that goes on off film.

Glad I found someone else who has "weird" "eccentric" sense of humor out there in the world. Most just don't seem to get where this humor comes from but after working on things that are not meant to be friendly to the guy repairing it, your humor evolves. Been there back in the day twisting wrenches and working in a machine shop. Best comment I got out of a customer was "been like that for 5 years" after finding out the hei in his Chevelle was not happy running off reduced voltage from the old points resistor wire. Had a fair share of sludge engines torn down for rebuild. Worst one was a Toyota 4 cylinder that was held together with sludge so bad the valve cover and oil pan were stuck in place. Course there is always that customer saying it ran great and after seeing the obvious neglect you just 🙄 letting the bs float on by without responding. Think I just found another YT channel besides AvE that feeds my interest in the technical side and humor. Bob is definitely an ether bunny but has character.

It's always worth tearing down a knocking engine just to see what was going on in there. It will also help diagnose things in the future because you become familiar with certain sounds and stuff.

I'm a GM tech. I've been known to buy engines exactly like this as cores, literally regasket the engine, buy one single rod, swap original piston onto new rod, reuse all bearings etc and put that same engine into something and have it last another 200k before I sell it.
