Watt-hours per mile is a good indicator of economy. Another, simpler, metric is kilometers per volt used. Generally you can get a range of 8 or 9 volts from full charge to full discharge, so you can estimate cycling range without any power calculations.

The BBS02 is an amazing motor really, my 1500w rear hub with a 960wh battery gives 32 miles with heavy pedaling, Whilst offering significantly less torque only 40nm, whilst your getting 3x that with half the power.

@@zantesh oh wow. That's some good perspective because I have been really curious about hub motors lately. I actually purchased a BBSHD for 208US on an eBay auction rectently. 424CAD in total. Should check out the used eBay auctions.. I believe the account name was "mossen"

The motor and battery were running solid without any issues roughly 3,000km later. I eventually moved it to a nicer bike. However I got an M625 motor randomly and have been playing with that (bbshd) and it's way more power although it's also double the weight. If you want a bike that you will pedal annnd use assist then get the bbs02b But if you want an electric moped, go with the bbshd

Hi, great vid. I see you have very similar break/gear shifters as i have. I was wondering did you add the motor cut off switch to the breaks, i cant quite see. It also says the recomended cassette is a 9 speed and i see you have 7 like mine. Does it make much of a difference? Thanks

Hey, thanks for that. I didn't add the shift sensor, instead I use the brake sensors. it is a little bit tedious as you have to remember to do it though. Something I have been meaning to get around to... I also never knew that about the 9-speed. It hasn't been an issue at all. Although I think the reason that they want you to have a 9 speed is to reduce the scenario that the motor is spinning slowly yet applying lots of current which would generate lots of heat. My guess. I just make sure to be conscious about not applying the motor at extremely low rpm and high torque scenarios

Hey so i checked and the seller was Accolmile. on amazong. No complaints. They were helpful when i had to message them after the initial order as welll. I think you should go for it if it saves you from being stuck in traffic and gas. So far i've taken $140 off the total price in gas savings

What is the max speed on 26 wheels? I have got gt arrowhead and i bought bbs02 500watt and 20ah 48v. Not yet converted. Are U satisfied with results? Any problems with chain line?

It has been great. With a 48T chainring, i could hit 50kph if pedalling hard. Most of the time around 40kph. I'm very satisfied however sometimes when you have to come to an abrupt stop, and are still in a low gear, its very hard to get the bike moving from a standstill in low gear with the extra weight to shift up to a higher gear and get moving again. Takes a bit of planning. Shift up before stopping. One more thing to think about though. Makes me curious about a hub motor.

you don't have to, there's a throttle, can take you without pedalling no problem but this BBS02B is more intended to assist you while pedalling in my opinion. The assist is very strong, even at best, i would say i'm contributing only 10% to the momentum. The bbshd can go throttle only all day without overheating i think. BBS02B heats up a bit easier i think
