The fact that Martin got featured along with such iconic hits like The Sopranos, I Love Lucy, All In The Family, Cheers etc proves to those that don't know that Martin is one of the greatest sitcoms of all time and definitely one of true classics period! 👏 oh, and they dun messed up never giving Martin an Emmy. Nobody did what he did back then with all those characters and the improv. He was the Black 90s equivalent to Jackie Gleason when it came to physical comedy and improv.

@@brittneyrobinson2761 he had a stroke and diagnosed with Bi Polar. Along with anxiety, depression and had substance abuse. He’s been heavily medicated for bi polar since his blue streak days

Tisha is right the show is in syndication and I got my grandkids watching it. We love this show it's a black national anthem in my house. The show was priceless with humor! Love y'all for showing the world that black people can act, be funny, and become icons! Thank y'all for that!

what's important to recognize is, the receipt or non receipt of an Emmy does not change the IMPACT of this show. even at this date, the utter hilariousness of many of the episodes (featuring Martin's numerous characters) has waned very little and that folks is worth MORE than recognition by some "object" called an Emmy. that's right, if you're still laughing 27 years after the show's gone off the air...? well there's the "AWARD".
