Both cars are fantastic. The difference is the GT500 is made for multi purposes. Dragstrip or in the track. Thanks for sharing the GT500 because very few people see these in you face monsters on the streets. What I've personally noticed. The GT500 is a very refined overall package that all the major auto magazines comment rivals many Super cars. The other standout items are it's amazing DTC transmission and the built 5.2 Predator Coyote based engine. Your GT is what anyone wanting a beautiful sleeper monster muscle car would love to own including myself. Your a lucky man.

These cars are 2 different classes.. built vs bought.. some ppl have prefrences. A built Gt is fast after 30k is invested in upgrades. The shelby motor is built for boost with lower compression and forged internals. Simple bolt ons will make a Gt500 1100wheel with stock internals and stock tranny.
@leopapio683 Жыл бұрын
GT500 is the jack of all trades, and from factory you can build it to 1000whp with bolt ons. Yours is purpose built though. Me I'd go with GT500 because you can always do a simple pulley swap. Plus the I love the DCT

One vehicle has depreciation (well...used to lol) the other will hold its value for a lifetime. That definitely is a big consideration over build vs buy. It would have to be the GT500 for me although I think I still prefer the 2013-2014 variety over the new ones. Great video as always!

GT500 you’re getting a hand built motor with a relatively large supercharger, DCT, huge brakes and a much more sorted suspension. GT is clearly the better bang for the buck if straight line acceleration is the priority. RacerX talks like the gt500 is all low-end which isn’t true. It’s actually pretty soft down low and makes it’s power in the mid to upper rpm. Highway acceleration is no slouch either for factory with warranty at low 7 sec 60-130. Obviously a built boosted GT will easily gap a stock GT500. Also when you build a car you should factor in the cost of when shit break as well. Something youtubers rarely talk about.

Bilt versus bought? I wanted an SRT-10 or something similar. I was told that I should just go out and buy it over build something similar. Guess what ? I like getting advice but at the end of the day I have got to be me . I like my 2005 Ram with a 392 Hemi because it's different but very similar to an SRT-10. Mine is not a collector's item and doesn't have the value but, It's given me great joy 😀. Either way it is a sort of rare truck and when people notice what's different about my truck it starts some fun interactions. I think building over buying is a more involved and interesting option that drives the owners enthusiasm 🤔.

The question is unfinished. Whichever the question the answer may change. The answer is relative to the question. If you are asking which is better bang for the buck when it comes to horsepower/racing then the 5.0 is the clear winner. If the question is which would you prefer then that will boil down to the taste of the person answering. If you are asking which will hold its value better then the Shelby. The answer will change depending on the question.

both cars are different in there own way one being a turbo car vs a supercharged car, will come back to that n a sec.....built vs bought, it is for 2 different people, that want different things, the one that wants the bought car is probably a person that does not want to build a car, and just wants 2 go fast with the quote on quote top of the line car vs the built guy wants his car to be done the way he wants it just 4 him......the bought guy wants a warranty, however if he kisses that motor with a ham sandwhich such a tune etc, then bye bye 2 the warranty.....honestly turbo cars are the way 2 go if u want POWER......thats why the GTR kills everything, it puts the power down, AWD and when built there is NOTHING that can touch it, UNLESS u have a car that can put the power down as good as a GTR.....the GT500 is cool, but it's nothing special.....ok yeah the DCT and the motor, but i have seen built 6R80 and 10 speeds KILL at GT500 for way less money......so if you have a NEW GT500 u can easily get touched that is 4 SURE, so dont think ur KING and all...lol

The GT500 is such a beautiful car ,BUT then ford /shelby decided it needed a big pimple on it and they put that dial in the console instead of a shifter,That has annoyed me since the first time i seen one.I actually would never buy one for that 1 reason,it kills the car for me.

You mean bought then built, vs bought? Still need to drop a stack for a 5.0.

The GT500 will *DESTROY* the GT TT on the track, so the choice is obvious to me. That said, I find the GT500 front end to be super busy and ugly. So can I get a GT350R Heritage Edition instead?
