Woodshed is coming right along. If you stagger the joints on your purlins, it helps tie the whole roof together. This will make for a much stronger roof system.

You should send this video in to OSHA to see if they want to use it as an instructional video on roofing? 😁 Shed is looking awesome and we too in Southern Ohio are hoping for a few days of slightly warmer weather without rain. 🤷🏼‍♂️. If we see any we’ll send it your way! Hey Hunter! ✋🏻👴🏻

Slung a lot of paint in my navy days and beyond. Load 2/3 of the brush, wipe one side. Coverage is 3 to 4 times width of brush using a 6" stroke then reload brush. If you brush until paint coverage is thin you waited too long to reload.Same with a roller: typical roller with 1/4" nap will only cover about 2 square foot of area. With a brush you put your thumb and fingers on the metal band and rest the "handle" in the web of your hand between the thumb and index finger. Try it,you'll like it. $400.00 woodshed: heck of a deal!

I live in the Pacific NW. I'm building a 12 x 12 run-in shelter that will be 8 feet tall in the rear and about 9 1/2 up front. I will probably spend about 1100 on wood and that's on cheaper side. I'm spending a little more on pressure treated lumber for the frame so I may be spending 150 more.

There isn't any need for a closed in rear wall. Shed will dry wood faster without the rear wall. Air flow will dry out wood better. Also if you place the shed with the rear facing West and the front to the East you will have the prevailing winds drying the wood faster.

You are probably going to say ya ya another critique, but when you brush, uae both sides of the brush and point the brush so the paint flows to the end of the bristles and not int the metal ferel. On the other hand if some one was going to paint for me, no critiques, just happy to have it done! 😄

Hey guys, the cabin sure looks good. I like the color you chose for the PT and joists. When I paint PT lumber, I found that I have to seal and prime it first or I get stains telegraphing thru from the PT. When I use PT posts in the ground now, I made my own creosote to coat 'em with. Getting coal tar was the hardest part. You can buy creosote in the UK, but can't ship to the US. Love the wood/implement storage facility. BTW, when's the new tractor(s) coming? Cold weather in PA? Come to my place in NORCAL, it was 88F today and 20%. I hate humidity, that's why I like to gold prospect in the high desert..hot and dry! Stay well and have a day. Cheers!

Mike - have to say i love the fact that you can do this from your head and without drawings. Not good for your coworkers, but you have done a great job. BTW - made me nervous when you were about to step on those two small boards that were not anchored to the purlins. Be safe and careful up there.

I didn't look at all the comments, sorry if this question is redundant. Would it be faster to have offset/staggered the overlap of the boards rather than cutting and fitting them? For the steel roofing, as long as the center to center spacing is maintained, it will all work out. Just wondering. Appreciate the videos, nice property.
