Battle of the thermostat! It lives everywhere! I’m lucky - 80’s & 90’s during the day, 40’s at night with windows open - 14% to 30% humidity on average at this altitude - fire in the fire pit each night if it’s convenient- alpine outdoors! Piper is a sensation. Good color mix on the cabin. I do like the area you live in. I spend as much time outside after work like you as I can. We had a Honey Locust fall in the yard and since we don't have a Wolfridge my son and I are using a maul to split. Gets us back to nature and allows us to keep in shape - great cardio. Stay safe

Mike, with all the rain we get around here, just put a gutter and a downspout on the mini cabin and run it into an elevated rain barrel with a spigot near the bottom. Then you'll always have water out there for cleaning, etc.

Mike, I hit the jackpot today. I found that Ramps (Wild Leeks) grow as far as the eyes can see on my neighbor’s property that borders the PA line. He just recently bought this 48 acre lot that was part of the farm that I worked almost 40 years ago as a teenager.

Greetings from Ohio. Hi guys. I just watched video number 760, trying to catch up. At the end of the video you mentioned getting e-mail from a lady telling you that her 71-year-old husband got his sawmill. I know you’re talking about us. We met you at Paul Bunyan and my husband Kenny told you that he was going to get a sawmill. He was 74 at the time turned 75 in November. I e-mailed you on Easter Sunday to tell you that his sawmill had arrived. And now I’m telling you that he and his 50 year old son finished putting the sawmill together today. He’ll do an intro on his first log and send it your way. Love the pups. My daughter has a one year old Golden, named Lucy.

Mike, are you going to stain the bottom of the steps for the minicabin too? I have found that it helps stop the wood borer bees from making the holes in the wood. Those wood borer bees will even go after treated lumber. They don't seem to bother anything that is painted or solid stained like you are using, just the bare wood surfaces. At the end, Hunter really seemed that he wanted whatever was on the floor of the Jeep. He reminded me of the little kid in a candy store saying, please, I really want that one.

Hey Mike. In regards to people hurting right now, aside from businesses, food banks are in great need. As we know, hunger knows no bounds. I mentioned to many of my friends that if they feel blessed by our good Lord, and they don't need their stimulus check, they can always donate it to their food pantry. At any rate, food pantries need a lot of help especially now. So I hope people can give money to help, which is what they need most now. With the funds, they can purchase items that will balance their inventory. I thought I would just mention this since you made reference to businesses hurting. I hope you don't mind me saying this. Thank you.

Black Locust make darn good fence posts - they call them the hundred year posts. We raised them on our farm up in Broome County as a cash crop. For everyone we cut down, seven more would take their place. About every post on the farm was Black Locust and we never had to replace them, just pound them down in the ground every so often in the spring to tighten them up and that was it. So don't burn them, use them for fences. prmorehouse

The puppies were the highlight of this video. We breed Golden Retrievers so it was special for us. We are sending our 2nd litter this year home the same weekend you are picking yours up. Our litter had a waiting list before they were born. The Covid 19 problem has driven the demand for puppies off the chart. I'm glad you were able to find the puppy you were looking for. Looks like you hit a home run, too. The pups are beautiful! Can't wait to watch this one grow up. Have a day!

Quick fix to the A/C argument; pull the breaker outside by the unit to shut it down. I have the opposite complaint as my wife is still running the furnace?!?! 🙄 Stain looks great and thanks for giving us a peek at the over seeding ... now about the patch you out in for the deer with the web cam? 🤷🏼‍♂️. Yeah I take what they say on those stains and divide it at least by two. I used 4 year stain and have had to redo it at least every two years and one bad winter I had a do over in one year

Loved the puppies - Golden's are great - we've had three. Mike - you mentioned H.P. STARR & Sons - THEY are my "kin" my Grandfather William Park Starr & Howard Paul Starr were brothers. Their sons - Paul & Bill lived till 90+ yrs old and passed within the last 12 months. Paul's son - H.P. goes by "Joe Starr" is still with the company in Valencia. Years ago (1940 - 1960), I remember many fond visits to "the farm" on old Route 8 at Glade Mills. Gladys (H.P.'s wife) was a Cruickshank and graduated from Slippery Rock College and taught school. How close can you get ? I continue to follow / watch / and throughly ENJOY your videos - you have the same way of doing family / friends / & business as the H.P. Starr's. Much love -

For a water source out in the woods, use one of the tote liners. True. All gone but purchase one more and use for remote water source. And a small generator to run a garden hose sump pump to feed the pressure washer. Just remember to turn down pressure so you don’t raise the grain.

In the 30 years of my breeding and raising AKC registered Goldens, what made them in such high demand, was me taking videos from birth to the 8 weeks of time for a new home, I made about an 8 hour long tape and gave each new owner a copy. The folks loved it because they could see all of the different demeaners and personalities of every pup, including their own. It was pretty much a baby book for them.

Melissa, Melissa - I am sure Mike was just testing the system to insure you and the girls would be comfortable for that time when the heat gets to be unbearable. In fact, I recall getting a message from him asking about when the best time to test the system would be! Late April was our discussion. If the air is working, you won’t need that expensive pool, where you have to clean leaves from along with the dog hair and worry about boys and girls coming over all the time.

Another potential use for your sawdust - growing mushrooms. A mix of 6-8 inch diameter hardwoods, sawdust, wood chips - apparently makes a good growing medium for mushrooms of many types. Some might be edible others decorative or meant to protect your forest from certain bugs or pests - pretty interesting, lots of obscure knowledge out there about this. Check out Paul Stamets for more on it.

Hi Mike. One way I am trying to support a local business is I mailed a check to my barber for the 2 haircuts that I should have gotten had she been open. I'm lucky enough to still be getting paid even though I am staying home, and I would have spent that money on haircuts anyway, so why not help her maintain her salary while she is home. Also, I don't believe she qualifies for unemployment because she is self employed. Thanks for the videos! Now I have to go watch Melissa's!
