Shang Tsung was born in Earthrealm. He participated in a MK Tournament on their behalf where he was disqualified for cheating. As punishment he was cursed with accelerated life and banished to Outworld. Shao Khan learned of his fate and taught him how to absorb souls which reverses the affects of his accelerated lifespan allowing him to live longer. Fun fact: because he was born in Earthrealm he should not be eligible to join the MK Tournament the way he does in the game for the same reason Bo Rai Cho doesn’t enter.

But you're right and tsung's origin was all over the place pre and post netherrealm, seemed like Boon never could lockdown a definitive earthrealm or outworld heritage for our boy Shang so you can never be too sure either way

This is VERY WELL put together! In the Mortal Kombat Legends: Cage Match that was just released a few weeks ago it was revealed at the end of the movie that Johnny Cages Assistant Chuck Golden decided he didn't need to be Johnny Cage's assistant anymore, but instead became a stuntman named Mokap so he does have somewhat of a backstory now because of this movie. If you haven't seen it yet it's definitely worth the watch.

Shang tsung and Quan chi didn’t unwittingly resurrect Onaga. It was Shujinko and onaga simply came to the two sorcerers to reclaim his undead army and shinnok’s amulet

Liu Kang wasn't in Deadly Alliance as he was killed by said alliance of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. Also, it was Quan Chi and not Sub Zero that killed Scorpion's family and clan.

Yeah, I never got that. Shao Khan had to poison Onaga, because he wasn’t strong enough to take him on, but in the opening video of Armageddon, when he grabs him and flies off. Apparently they fight head to head, and Shao Kahn kills him then and comes back and then kills Blaze and absorbs his power, and then goes on a killing spree, and in Radiens life too lol and since says the opener of MK nine. Apparently that is canon.

In mk1, apparently shaos grandfather, I believe, lead the war to fight and trap onaga, so shao, in Armageddon, was a wayyy older, stronger, more experienced fighter, since he became a general, like his father's before him, fighting wars, learning the dark arts and becoming Kahn... So, it makes sense onaga could beat a younger shao and shao being able to handle him, after thousands of years of fighting, while onaga spent that time just trapped

I never liked the idea, of the lin kuei (i know i mispelled that), turning their best warriors, into mindles cyborgs. Theyre suppose to be one of the most deadly assassins/fighters, in like 1 thousand years and yet, none of them becoming cyborgs, got them any closer to qinning the tournament or making any rral impact. I like what mk1 is doing, since bi han is the aggressive, grandmaster and i dont believe he would waste any elite members, to the cyber initiative.
