Thanks. I have a JD 4052R and will see if that has it or not later. However I no longer use ramps to drive on a trailer. I drive up to trailer with a flat bucket and tires close or touching. Lower the bucket until the front wheels are even with the trailer. Then curl the bucket down till the front wheels roll onto the trailer. Raise the bucket and drive forward in low gear. The weight of the tractor lowers the back of the trailer enough that the tires catch and drives right on. Reverse the procedure to back off the trailer. Depending upon if there is a low guard in front of the front wheels, you may be able to back off the trailer just making sure you raise the bucket enough to clear the trailer.

After watching your first video, I found that my B2710 has a similar function. The only difference is I have to feather the control to the right in order to not raise the front tires and the bucket is level to the ground. When the control stick is moved to the right limits, it will have full power to lift the tires. Great video. I would never have realized how much of a difference this makes when digging into a pile.👍

That Grapple controller should be variable speed! It's a crappy design if it's not! That would be like a thumb control or boom swing on an excavator. If it's not variable then it's garbage! But they probably have a preset speed that you can change with a knob or wrench adjustment. Unfortunately some of the big hi-lift telehandlers have that bad design on the fork angle and stabilizer controls also. I still cannot think of any reason why that extra function would be like that on there. That is a crappy design. Every loader I've ever been on you could raise the tires by dumping the bucket. You did not have to push the boom down. I can do all those things on every tractor I've ever been on without that extra function. I do like the heel on that loader bucket for back dragging and grading. Lots of loader bucket are too rounded to do that.
@thekobaz
@thekobaz Жыл бұрын
The 'extra function' ie: third function, is for a front-end implement that takes a third hydraulic hookup like a grapple. You have raise/lower and curl/dump AND open/close the claw. Without the third function you cannot run a claw/grapple.
@TF856
@TF856 Жыл бұрын
@@thekobaz if I remember the way it was explained, that 3rd function is not variable. It was just like an on and off switch/momentary switch like some tractors have on the thumb! Those are a really crappy design. Any hydraulic function should have a variable speed! A similar crappy designers is on the paddlewheel scrapers that have the rocker steering wheels, those steering wheels have two position going each direction. If you turn it approximately 10 degrees either way it'll move slowly in that direction. And if you move it to the second position which is approximately 20° it'll turn faster that direction. When you let go it snaps back to center position. It's like steering with a 5 position electric switch. It totally sucks! Some off road forklifts have an electric switch to adjust the angle of the forks. And some of them have electric switches to operate the hydraulic stabilizers. These are all due to crappy designs! Some of those forklifts that operate the forks on a switch also have a curl rate adjuster operated by a knob. Similar to the drop rate controller on a farm tractor for lowering the three-point hitch at a preset speed. On a forklift it's still a pain in the ass. But like I said before that third function should be variable speed! I never said that it wasn't needed. Maybe I didn't phrase it right before. Every tractor I've ever been on that had a front loader had variable-speed operation on every feature. Even on the clam bucket. And having to use an extra power feature to raise the front wheels means it's a crappy design! It should be easy to raise the front wheels off the ground easily by either pushing the bucket down normally or curling the bucket down. On big machines that have an extra power function that means that they have a way of connecting two or more pumps together to increase hydraulic pressure for one specific function at a time. I reread my other comment and the extra function that I was talking about was the stupid function of having to push the bucket lever down farther to race the front wheels. You should not need extra power to raise a front wheels off the ground. That is a totally normal function that every front-loader should be able to do easily!
