Sir in the word EQUATION, we have all different letters but what if we had similar letters in a word like ARBITRARY. will the approach still be the same with the letter A and R repeating?

Suppose 5 CPUS 100 slots if those CPUs correct positions are only 5 slots then derangements are D5*95p5 . Is it correct?

No.... If you know the derivation then you can easily get the answer..... See here 100p5 are total ways and from that we will subtract all these cases.... case 1:- one cpu at its correct place 5c1*99p4 case 2:- two cpu at its correct place 5c2*98p3 case 3:- 3 cpu at its correct place 5c3*97p2 case 4:- 4 cpu at its correct place 5c4*96p1 case 5:- 5 cpu at its correct place 5c5*95p0

35:17 i have doubt ki 5C3 se to hum log 3 element choose kar payenge sirf but vo log correct place pe hi shift honge uski kya garantee hai. vo element bhi galat jagah par baith sakenge na ?? please solve my confusion 🙏🙏🙏

we are not choosing here, 5C3 is the total possibility of 3 elements at the correct place from 5 places. for example: first consider 1,2,3 at the correct position then do Dearrangement with 4,5. similarly do it for (1,2,4), (1,2,5), (1,3,4), (1,3,5), (1,4,5), (2,3,4), (2,3,5), (2,4,5), (3,4,5) at correct places. notice I have written 10 possibilities for all 3 elements from 5 elements that can be at the correct positions. which is nothing but 5C3
