lol My parents bought a used 79' black on grey 2dr back in 81'. Then my parents gave it to my sister in 86' until she got a new car a couple years later. It sat in front of our house for a couple years then I got it in 90'. After a jump and new gas, started right up. My friends and I called it the party barge. Those bench seats were perfect...if you know what I mean. ;-) I had to buy a car in 91' that was better on gas to deliver pizza's and it was parked once again. My sister started using it again shortly after. Her drunk ass drove it off the road messing with the radio, hit a hill and "dukes of hazard" it through a mobile home, landed then quickly drove home. It was scratched up all to hell but the only things got broke was the grill and retractable antenna. The next day she told me and i drove to the site to see the damage. Thank God the place was empty. She had to be going 50 mph when she hit the hill to clear the height and have the force to go through both sides without getting stuck. She had no idea how fast she was going since the speedometer had stopped working years prior. Too bad we didn't have camera phones back then. It is one of the things that has to be seen to believe. She never drove it again after that. It sat for 4 years until I had a friend that moved back to town that need a car. All it needed was a new battery and it started right up with little hassle. After he was done with it, I sold it 2004 for $900 to a guy that wanted to restore it. I hated to see it go but I didn't have the time or money to restore it myself and it was just sitting there pissing off my neighbors. He brought it by when he was done, it looked like how we bought back in 81'. Complete with 8 track and CB radio! lol Man...those cars were beast and real easy to work on.

Nice find, and nice car. In that generation, two door Impala's and Caprices were pretty rare, the vast majority produced were four door sedans. I see it's got that trusty GM ignition lock, where you can turn it without a key---I've had at least four that did that. The only real problem with that car is the roof---I can see it's got some pretty serious bubbles under the landau, which means there will be lots of rust holes underneath. Still, it's fixable.

Nice car I have a 1979 Chevy Caprice mines the 4 door. The 305 is a good motor that's what motor is in mine.
@scoopyex10 жыл бұрын
305's are camshaft eating boat anchors. they were made in Mexico with low nickle in the casting mix and tended to wear cylinders at phenomenal rates
@slashnduffrock9 жыл бұрын
scoopyex fuck you, you stupid racist, the only reason why your camshaft went out was because you were putting regular modern oil in it with low zinc, you have to add a zinc additive to regular flat tappet cams or they'll grind out, what 305 were know for were there shitty valve seats that would wear out after 80-90k miles and they'd start to burn oil. Get you facts straight you piece of shit.

Classic case of pumping it way too damn much. 7:17 - 7:22 17 pumps? Really man? Not to mention the 900 other pumps. I know this video is 6 years old, but jesus christ. Pump it two or three times, if it floods, hold it to the floor. The linkage should pop the choke open a little to give it some air. That being said, the bowl was probably dead empty and the accel pump well was probably dry or pump itself was stuck/bad.
