Sudden Death Seven-ball also known as ESPN Sudden Death Seven-ball for promotional purposes was an annual pool tournament held in the United States.
The event series was short-lived: After six events, 2000 - 2005, the tournament was never again staged
Rule of Game :
Every match has two sets, both of them are race-to-7.
To win, a player has to win both.
If a player fails to pocket a ball, the other player shall be awarded ball-in-hand.
Each player can only call a safety once per rack.
The seven-ball had to be called before being pocketed.

Why does ralf not get ball in hand after Corey missed the 6-7 combo at around 11:15? I thought ball in hand is awarded after a miss?

He still hit the 6. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the rules, but I'm fairly certain it's the same rules as any other kind of game. Not making the ball does not result in ball in hand. Not making contact with the ball does.

I noticed the same thing as you, but if you watch closely it never says 7 ball sudden death, so either it's another event, they redid the rules for that years edition or they just forgot.

This was dumb calling it 7 ball...that's not 7 ball...actual 7 ball the onecoming player after break gets to call a side for the 7 ball...he gets those three pockets and the other side of table is for the other player. You have to pocket the 7 one the pockets on your side.

This had to be 2001 or 2002, these were the only years in Baltimore. Corey was Champion in this event twice, 2001 in Baltimore and 2004 in Las Vegas. I saw the win in Las Vegas live, as I live here. This is 2001.

@@BanditJustice Yes, that's what I stated, 2000 was played in Chicago, 01 and 02 were played in Baltimore, 03 was in Conn. and 04 and 05 were played in Las Vegas.
