Your nasi padang is basically nasi ambeng already with all those dishes. 😆 Crazy! Regarding the salted egg, usually eat together with the rice and other savoury dishes to balance out the taste. And yes, you can use your left hand to help tear the chicken apart like how we use both hands to peel the prawns at times. But you have to use your right hand to feed your mouth.

It's impossible to confuse between nasi ambeng and nasi padang. Nasi ambeng usually consists of meat like beef/chicken, 1 veggie, fermented soy bean and accompanied by noodles. Nasi padang doesn't have noodles. It's like Nasi campur or the Chinese version of mixed rice where you have dozens of side dishes.

I should go to a Chinese restaurant, wait till there are enough dishes on my table and the tables around me. Then take out a bucket, chuck in all the food I ordered. Run from table to table, chuck everything I can get my hands on, into said bucket. Then put the bucket on the floor, get down on fours, chuck my head into the bucket and eat like a cow. This way I can savour the food and respect the culture. Then post it on Tiktok.

In regards to using your hands to eat, you should primarily use your right hand. But like you say, if you want to fiddle with bones, I guess it's also acceptable to use your left hand. Just use it for the challenging parts when you are eating. Try not to use too much of your left hand.

This is a legit Nasi Padang restaurant laa ... Bec they also serve good potato cutlets 😅 and Padang restaurants here made the best potato cutlets ... Less rice, more potato cutlets here please 😂 The rendang for me and I believe for most Indonesians seemed overcooked/braised too long bec it's too soft I like soft meat that still has meat texture that I get to chew not dissintegrate by themselves 😅 Weird they have saltws duck egg there 😮 It's good to eat Soto/ thick soup with but we don't eat salted duck egg with nasi Padang Too bad they don't serve beef tendon gulai .. that's my faverit ❤ and beef tripe Eating that many padang cuisine at once is not good bec it's heavy food cooked with oily coconut milk Drink lotsa liang tea ..
