7L/T1 Touareg 09D Transmission Trans-Go Valve body shift kit install

Removing/installing and assembling the Trans-Go valve body shift kit in my 7L/T1 Touareg with 09D.
Main issue with mine was torque converter slip/shudder, shifts were all good. Seems to solve the slip issue but not so much the shudder.

Did the Shift kit on my 2003 beetle 09G. Shifts like new for a year now. Unfortunately thanks to German engineering she breaks down in other ways every month like she was on a schedule!

Great video it took me a minute to get used to the High Rev on the T1. Mine was acting up. The previous owner neglected the SVU bit, and now it's coming back to life. They are a very interesting SUV, comfortable, well-off road capable, and a lot of power.

Same with mine, I just got caught up with all the maintenance. With a good set of tires they work very well, I tow an enclosed trailer off road and has done well.

It looks so simple through a video but it looks like alot of work to get it done. Good video though. What were the noticeable differences from the kit?

Takes a bit of time, worse part is all the oil dripping on you the whole time. I didn't have any shifting issues really but had issues if stopping on a hill then taking off again it would take revving up to 1000 rpm before the trans would engage harshly. Seems to have taken care of that so but haven't had a whole lot of good time to test it yet because of the storm.

Hello teacher, I have a touareg 2004 R5 TDI automatic transmission I have a problem with the transmission, that is, when the car is in gear, when I accelerate, the bottom goes back to neutral. For example, it is in fourth gear when I press the accelerator pedal to the floor, it does not go to fifth gear, it returns to neutral. Do you think the problem comes from the valve body (solenoids)???? thank you

Happens in all gears? I’d scan it and make sure there’s no electrical faults, if no faults then this shift kit would be an easy place to start

Hello my friend. Which valve is responsible for fifth gear? For me there is a hit when it changes from 4 to 5.

Did that shudder end up being the driveshaft bearing? Happened to me twice on my V10 Touareg

It’s engine related I’m sure of it, when it hits the shudder it slows down a lot. Although I do believe my driveshaft bearing is going as I noticed a couple days ago a more aggressive shudder/knock under the Center console

Hi mate, how is the trans habit? Is it back to the usual smooth ride now? Why, cuz I'm going to buy the kit from eBay. For the remanufactured valve body, they ask 700-1200 USD. Our Tuareg has an oil heat problem once it's hot this is when the kicks and slipping start. Great Video thank you.

Shifts are awesome, although that was never the issue. The main issue I was after was the torque converter slipping on take off and that seemed better but it’s back to its old ways now. I think it’s a cheap and easy option to atleast try before digging in deeper.

Great Video. TY. I have 2008 Treg V8 I have that dreaded down shift when accelerating hard. like 6th to 4th or 5th to 4th etc. It is huge! So my question is will this fix this? Have you lived on the forums like me

I cant say mine ever had harsh shifting more the torque converter, If anything i find mine annoyingly doesnt want to downshift and lugs the engine.

Josh do you know if this kit is roughly the same as a 2008 Volkswagen Touareg V8? And do you know anything about the differentials front differentials and axle seals. Mine vibrates under hard acceleration as well as I got a vibration at around 75 or 80 I think. By the way thank you so very much for this video brother

Fairly certain it’s the same trans, as far as differentials I know there’s been a few rebuild threads on club Touareg, there’s a few tricky things though with setting up backlash/pre load. I did a video on servicing diffs awhile ago, I’d maybe see what the oil looks like first?

I mean, i have a few of shocks and and harsh shifting from 2nd to 3rd, and in 3rd to 4th seems to slip like it goes from 1000 rpm to 2000, feels like it shifts and then stays in 3rd, at the second time of going from 1000 rpm to 2000 rpm shifts to 4th, and also when the trans is warm it seems to have some shocks going down thru gears from 3rd to 2nd, mine is a 2006 7l 2.5 bac, does it seem to be anything valve body related? when the trans is cold the shifts are a bit better, still slipping in 3rd but when the trans fluid warms up it becomes a nightmare.

I'm not real well versed on auto's but if those plungers are scored then it makes sense why it works when cold/thicker versus thinned out and warm. The kit is relatively cheap so it might be worth a shot with fresh fluid

250k km ish, my other one got entire valve body around the 160-170k km.

@@JoshsJettas okay i was getting ready to do this myself but after watching the entire video I think I'm gonna send in a core LOL first time ever an instructional video made me not want to do something, congratz! I even attempted the tandem pump myself xD not doing this. p.s. were you getting bad economy or could transmission performance make my economy suffer? I'm averaging only 17-18 on flat ground 60mph. I do have a large roof rack but I feel like I should be getting better MPG
