Dude! I'm not one for four letter bombs, but I can't tell you how often I've said "F*CK YEAH!" when watching your tutorials. Love this channel. It's the complete opposite of everything I hate about bad youtube tutorials. You don't have an overly long title intro, you show us what we're going to be doing from the onset, and a few seconds in, you get right on it. I don't know how many tutorials I've sat and watched, five minutes into it they are still talking and haven't started, or they don't even show us what they are trying to accomplish and 40 minutes later I find that isn't what I was looking for, or worse, they neglect to mention they are using a plug in. Thanks for getting in done, as you say, no BS. Love this channel!!!

Thanks for the comment. The motivation behind this series was exactly what you said. I got tired of watching hour long tutorials, with most of the content being jokes or talking about personal things. Glad you dig it! I'll be uploading more soon.

I don't mind the jokes here and there, keeps it light if there are funny, but yeah, cool to get right to it. I'm glad you did it. Something I've wanted to do for some time now, maybe I will, with 3D model stuff. Thanks again!

By any chance do you have a video that shows the best settings to use when working with after effects? If you do, that would be great to look at!
@7MinuteAETutorials5 жыл бұрын
Antonio Yanez what did you have in mind? Do you mean frame right and comp size? If so, that really depends on what the purpose of the video is. If you want to create a video for Instagram, it needs to be 1080x1080. For film, it should be 1920x1080, 23.976 frame rate. What projects are you creating?

@@7MinuteAETutorials I have been trying to use after effects but for some reason I can never animate text because it feels slow. I think I have an ok computer for after effects but can't seem to get things going for it. I am trying to create a video with iPhone footage and animate some text with some titles bit its slow. More than likely its something from my settings or project settings that is wrong but don't know what. I try other templates and they work fine, I am able to edit. So I wanted to see what were the best settings to use with after effects because I can't seem to figure it out on my own. @7MinuteAETutorials4 жыл бұрын
I'm hindsight, this tutorial goes way too fast. I need to redo it in a more digestible way. There wasn't a shortcut for moving them all down at once. I manually moved them down but edited the process out. This is one of my faster tutorials that I tried to cram into 7 minutes. I may revisit this and give it the time it needs.

Titan Hedric Right-click on the text layer and you’ll see an option for CREATE - click that for the pop-out and choose CONVERT TEXT LAYER TO SHAPES. After Effects changed its layout around the 2018 release and nested these options. Let me know if this works for you:

HI. thanks for this wonderfull 7 min work. if it last 7min for us i know not for u.. Thanks again. 1st question, which is about the use of the alpha in this video. (may be you've done one vidéo about the alpha)... if i get the "how" i dont get the "why" you're doing this. Same for the top solid which color is not important. May be it is because of the Alpha... Can you enlight this point ? and according to your permament use of [ = begin layer, this shortcut do not works on my side, Is the same shotcut than $ and Alt$ ?? thanks again.
@7MinuteAETutorials4 жыл бұрын
4MedicalProductions thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate the kind words. For your questions, when you use an Alpha Matte, you are telling the text layer (or any other layer like images or video) to use the layer above it to reveal the text. So the text will only show up in the area that solid occupies. You can also use shape layers instead of solids. That’s why the color doesn’t matter, because the solid layer will not be visible. Basically, an alpha matte is a way to reveal another layer, like text, images, and video. By resizing and adjusting the position of the solid (the alpha matte), you can limit where the text will be revealed. For the shortcut, [ works for both PC and MAC. I’m not sure why it’s not working on your end. Make sure you aren’t using { instead, and don’t hold down shift. Put your playhead anywhere and make sure the layer is highlighted by clicking the layer, then click the [ key. Let me know if this makes sense and if it works.

You need to re-type the text. Once it's changed to shape layers or masks, it can't be converted back to editable text. You can, however, copy and paste your effect.

@7MinuteAETutorials4 жыл бұрын
@@ohheyezz3046 Not a problem at all. Try this. Let the trim paths animate the stroke. If you have a fill in the shape layers, there is an option for "opacity" that is specific to the fill. You could set the opacity on the fill to 0 and have it animate to 100, but do this AFTER the trim paths animates the stroke on. So you would get an animated stroke and the fill can fade in either slow or really fast depending on how you set the keyframes for the fill opacity. Let me know if that makes sense. We will get this for you :)
