Love my 93 "Zed" J.....I even lucked out and found a 94 for parts that had hit a deer. Almost 400k km and still runs like new....well, after swapping out the tranny, transfer case and a rebuilt rear diff.......but compare that to the price of a less capable new one. The next plan for this Summer is cutting out the rotting rocker panels and building rock sliders for her.

Hey Denis, about the ZJ how many miles did your jeep have before the transmission went out? I have my eye on a Zj with 190k miles on it. Any words of advice? thanks

Very nice work you've done on it. I have a 94 ZJ with the 5.2, same color. Purchased for 300.00. Had a case of death wobble and needs alot of work. I have added new BJs, control arms, track bar tie rods, sway bar end links, water pump, Crank sensor, distributor, intake gaskets, rear axle bearings seals front and rear brakes. 4 new tires and misc. little chit here and there. Still needs a rear ring and pinion and bearing rebuild, transfer case swap, and front DS and plans are to strip the paint and rattle can it. I want to raise it but only 2" as it's starting to become cost prohibitive to go higher. It's been a nice project and kept me busy. Would love to see your work on the TC swap, I'm going with a 242 if I can find one. Yours is a great looking truck, congrats.

Sweet build. I just bought a '98Grand Cherokee Limited. Enthusiasts like yourself sold me on it being the right choice. 204K 2000$ Neighbors carOlder couple,never off-road. Not sure what direction I'm going to go with it yet,but I like what you did! Very nice. Per the heat issues and the trans/engine radiator cooling,can fans installed to the hood venting pull heat off the engine and likewise puting the air plenum outside the engine compartment,either in a snorkel or exterior air induction? I've seen both. I lived in Arizona and I know heat is the number one challenge. Soon as I have the chance I'm going down to visit family and would like to do some trails. Probably go to Fossil Creek. Thanks for the video. I'm going subscribe and follow.

Nicely done ZJ. Thanks for the walk and talk. Question? What thickness of 4.5x5 to 5 on 5 adapters did you go with in order to use you TJ wheels.? What is the backspacing on those wheels, are they 6"? I have some 18x7.5 with 6 inchex of backspacing and trying to figure out what size adapter to mod to fit onto a 1995 ZJ? I dont think 1.5 inch adapters will be enough. I am think 2.5 to 3 inch spidertraxx or Bora? Any input would be really appreciated. Cant wait to see more of your build...Have a blast and keep on 4wheelin.

Jeep had an updated fan for replacing the crapy one that came with the V8. It's a composite fan and its an 11 blade. The V8 models had issues over heating because fan wouldn't pull enough air. Composite fan upgrade p/n 52079654AE.

Can you share some details on how you mounted the SS3's in a pair like that? Are you running a relay for the wiring? Did you have to fab some mounts?

Did you upgrade the front drive shaft? I'm running stock drive shaft with 4 inch lift on my 98 5.9 and got noise and slight vibe up front. I purchased a t-case drop but haven't installed it yet.
@7slotslifestyle
@7slotslifestyle 3 жыл бұрын
It's still the factory double Cardin front driveshaft with a tCase drop with no issues. With the long arm I was able to dial in the caster to get the driveshaft alignment better

Very cool. Are your rear control arms on upside down? I have a 97 zj with a 4.0. Currently in the process of fitting 37 wheels on it.
@7slotslifestyle
@7slotslifestyle 3 жыл бұрын
No they are not, that is how the instructions direct them to be installed. If they were installed upside down, they would be a major ground clearance issue.

44re... can't find where its been done before but everything I've read it has the same output shaft spline and length as the TJ Rubicon.. i definitely know i will have to address the TC linkage and get a double cardan rear drive shaft made up
