have you tired charging & powering up the speaker? I'm not having any luck. Red light comes on when charging....for hours, but will not turn on.

So I just pulled it out and plugged it in. It is currently red while charging. I decided to power it on (just in case it is always red while plugged in even if it is fully charged - I don't know yet as it has only been plugged in for a few minutes). I did discover that the directions on the back of the box are incorrect and perhaps this is the problem you are running in to? The directions on mine stated to: "Long press to Power ON/Power Off" on the button that contains the play + pause + phone icon. I had to do a long press on the button that contains the power icon + IM. After that, it was pretty smooth sailing, paired it with my phone just to make sure it worked. Hope that helps. :)

What is the total value in the box?

The interior "What's in the box" sheet lists the following values: Tote - $35 Speaker - $30 Hat - $26 Ice Tray - $12 Beach Towel - $49.99 Hair Towel - $20 Brush - $34.99 Scunchies - $39.99 The fold out does not mention the Steeped coffee sample - $? (sample, so assuming $0 value?) or the additional Premium box gift of Sunscreen - $24 So the total value would be: $247.97 - or $271.97 if you include the Premium Sunscreen add-on. From the items that I could actually find for retail sale online, the price points are accurately reflected on the fold out. I could not locate some items specifically, like the Zoë Ayla website didn't seem to list the specific scrunchies (although I didn't go through all 7 pages of them) or detangling brush that came in this box but the price points did seem close to what was listed here.

How long does it usually take you to get the box? I ordered a box on April 24 but I still haven't gotten anything. Initially it said I was getting the Spring box but now it's saying summer. I tried to reach out through the website but not getting anyone to answer.

Sadly it’s been a bit of a roller coaster (and that was true pre-pandemic). There was one time they were roughly 5 weeks late and then with this one they were seemingly 3 weeks early (if we are assuming a full 3 months between boxes)? As for their support contact: sometimes their Zendesk support people have taken 5 days to respond to me and other times it’s 2 days (despite the fact that their website said 24 hours at the time). Consistency and communication is definitely something that needs improvement with this product. My mom also signed up around the same time you did, and was originally told she would get the Spring box and still hasn’t heard/received anything. I know it’s a bummer, but given the sheer volume of subscribers, I would imagine it might be a few more weeks. As for timeframes for when we tend to get the box (once they’ve actually started shipping to everyone): We tend to be on the earlier side of receiving the box. I think this can be attributed to a few reasons: * We signed up early and therefore had a fairly early order number (so IF they fulfill even somewhat based on order number then that puts us near the front of the list). * We live in the next county over from where they ship from, so faster delivery is possible (although we’ve still had some boxes take 5 days when they sometimes hand-off to USPS for the final delivery). * We upgraded to the Premium when that became available and at the time my understanding was that those boxes would ship first, but I don’t know if that’s actually true. I hope you get yours soon, and I really hope they respond to your email even sooner.

Just wondering if anyone knows what box I will get from ordering May 12th. I read that if you sign up before it launches then you get the box when the next one launches?

False advertising. The wrap on the blanket says it’s Turkish cotton but the paper says it’s recycled plastic. So what is it?

You bring up a great point. The box insert mentions this towel was especially made for the Ellen Box, so if it is 100% plastic, then Sand Cloud errantly just used the same packaging they do for their 100% Turkish cotton towels. On the other hand, perhaps the box insert was mistaken and the towels are not made from recycled plastic. We sent an email to Sand Cloud to ask for clarification, if we get a response we’ll let you know.

So I finally got a response: “The towel that is included in the Ellen Summer Be Kind box is made of 97% Turkish cotton and 3% polyester.” So it sounds like the insert in the box was mistaken.

Whoever curated the box insert/website on the Ellen staff definitely made an error, we are going to send them an email next so hopefully they will update their website with the correct info, obviously it’s too late for the info card.

Honestly, each box has grown on us more in the weeks after opening them. That was even true with the 3rd box (which I only mention because it seemed to be one of the most favored by our viewers). There’s always things in every box we would never use and it gives us an opportunity to find someone that we think would enjoy those items and then there’s always those things that we still thought we would never use but actually end up loving.
