I cannot praise you men enough. I'm in electrical engineering, Classical mechanics gave me the analytical skills for the rest of my degree. The beautiful part, the differential equations are mathematically identical. This subject is the cornerstone for any engineering disciplines. The way you approach and think about problems, these skills from mechanics are applied everywhere. In electromechanical systems you must understand motion otherwise you can't design your system. I'm really impressed here

I just LOVe the fact that today's tech allows just about anyone to learn a complete undergrad first year course for free. I'm still in highschool but following these courses are way better for learning everything. It also makes giving the SAT and half-motivated JEE exams a LOT easier so yeah, thank you for this!

Excellent course of physics! I think this course is way much better than the previous 8.01 taught by Walter Lewin. This course is well organized and easy to follow because it decomposes the massive content into short videos.

@mitocw
@mitocw 5 жыл бұрын
You can find out information about how lightboards work here: lightboard.info/. The technology used in the MIT Lightboard interactively flips the image and adds auxiliary images (such as slides) and video inputs into the captured video in real time, so that the instructor can immediately review the footage.

(This not an official answer this what I think when think about MIT) The most important thing for joining MIT is being yourself . Ask yourself this questions (1) Why do you want to join MIT ? (2) Can you view yourself as a student of Mit ( i.e. have some campus tours and ask the students there about how do they feel about MIT and what it means to be their students) (3) The most important thing about choosing a University is if you are perfect fit for College/University. Don't ever decide a college just by it's ranking , decide it on the basis of opportunities of learning you have and research opportunities. (4) Always try challenge yourself with new obstacles and try your best to succeed those obstacle (5) Joining MIT is not like taking pride in getting into the University instead you always feel that you responsibility towards the people (6)What will you do with the quality of Education you received ? (7) Decide what you want to be in your life , never stop dreaming even if you have hard times just keep moving forward. (8) Make the best use of the opportunies you have don't think that other candidates have some fancy score so you don't have any chance of getting admitted. (9) Take part in part in extracurricular activities you like or you are passionate about. The process of admission in MIT is Holistic Review and not Merit Based . MIT is one of the most generous institute in providing financial aid. It is "need blind "so tuition fee should never divert your mind that you cannot afford it . ( Fill a Form called CSS profile to be considered for financial aid and tick the checkbox in application form of MIT for need blind financial aid.) Now about testing SAT and TOEFL are generally required but in Covid times it is made optional . (* You don't need any English proficiency exam if you have completed last five years in a school where English was the medium of Instruction .) There is no official minimum but average score of SAT recommended is around 1550/1600 TOEFL score above 105 is valid ( Check the website if you are taking other English proficiency test) Try to challenge yourself with the most difficult courses available in your high school or take subject test of following exam courses(of your interest and not to please any University. I would recommend at least 3 ) to challenge yourself (1) AP - Advanced Placement ( Generally 4 and 5 us considered good score but should also mention the scores in which you got 3 because that is passing Marks) (2) IB diploma (3)A levels Take part in olympiads like regional olympiads , national olympiads and international olympiads ( like imo ,IPHO, IAO IBO,icho) Even if you get straight A's in every test but that will never ensure your way into MIT . ( I don't care what you decide but try be creative and passionate about what you are doing) Required documents school transcripts (9th -12th or most recent) 2 teacher recommender 1 principal or consulor recommender ( Note SAT subject scores or Sat 2 scores are not considered whatsoever) (School gpa : try to be in top 5% of class , no official minimum ) ( You can find the application form in their website)

@@sachitvarshney1495 This is all very helpful but I'd like to add that you should only give an AP if it's easy for you to get a course for it. It doesn't have much effect on your profile, because it's meant for college credit. Focusing on things you enjoy doing, and making something with real value or something that is practical, like a research paper/journal, a working model of something you like, a pc/mobile game or app, that have even a small amount of positive impact on the world are a great way to learn about what you wanna purse beforehand, and it's more enjoyable. Don't let your course level or grades decide what you should study. If you like and enjoy learning a topic, say general relativity or quantum mechanics, start learning them and don't put a ceiling on your knowledge.
