Hi! I’m your every day city slicker that knows next to nothing about ag machines let alone a typical car. I watch your vids to try and absorb as much knowledge as I can and to at least understand how they work. Love the videos and thanks for teaching and sharing.

You know it's funny I watch other KZbinrs working on different diesels and stuff but you actually explain and are very knowledgeable about multiple types of diesel engines and equipment most guys just show you a little bit and then sit there and ask you to buy their merchandise

GREAT Video Warren. I don,t know why but i do like watching your videos even after retirement. You are a very good seasoned mechanic. I was just wondering if you ever thought about a partnership with say a good tech college like Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls Oregon? They have a great Diesel Engine tech program for Trucks and Boats and Tractors. Maybe start a transition to the real world for those who are interested and reccommeneded by a counslor. Might find a great employee to add to your business. Just sayin.

I have a 2004 dodge with a Cummins 600 in it. I’ve never drove a common rail until now and sometimes when I let off the pedal after putting a load on it the truck seems to keep going. Also my waste gate sounds like a bad compressor safety valve on a truck when it releases pressure. Any thoughts?

Hi warren, thanks for the great video, could you let us know how your dog is? And is there any news on the new service truck?

He's laying here beside me on the couch. We caught it early enough to treat him , so he's doing good . I'm waiting on the bank , they wanted 2 years of profit and loss statements, and this year's taxes. So we had to wait for an appointment to get our taxes done , they have all the paper work as of Friday.

When you line up the timing mark on the pump does the pump have to be on TDC for Number one like the engine does? I guess what i am saying is can the pump be 180 out or something?
@westerntruckandtractorrepa13536 жыл бұрын
Yes you need engine on tdc # 1.

Can you please tell me how many hours to charge a customer for an overhaul job of a 6081 8.1L ??? Our Mitchell1 and Prodemand system can’t give us an estimate on it.
@scottlundy2576 жыл бұрын
I get the engine has to be on 1 TDC but how do you know the pump is on #1 TDC with just a single timing mark it could be out of time by any cylinder
@fergiebadass30746 жыл бұрын
your right the crankshaft could be on the exhaust stroke

Ive always heard the term "repower/ed". Is that when they replace an engine with another rebuilt/new engine or when the original engine is rebuilt or is it just a general term for either one? You have a good channel, enjoy watching often. Your detail in explaining things is top notch! Thanks for the vids!
@westerntruckandtractorrepa13536 жыл бұрын
Shakes 73 As far as I know that is a dealership term for pulling the engine out and replacing it with a factory reman engine . Thanks for the compliment.
@33478616 жыл бұрын
Around here that term usually means that the original engine was removed and a different setup installed....
@douglasbuhr57416 жыл бұрын
I have understood re-powered as installing a different model of engine then what came in it originally, IE putting a Cummins in a Ford. overhauled wound denote refreshing the engine.
@melvinschmecklebak37666 жыл бұрын
Not trolling, but I never ever left pump ports or injector inlets open when repairing engines. Always put plastic caps over them. It only takes a micron sized fleck of anything to screw up the delivery valve in the injector. Good vid. Just saying Warren
@bigwheel65336 жыл бұрын
Melvin Schmecklebak actually it takes more than a micron sized spec to ruin it. By design the fuel filters do not filter that small. I do agree it should be cover though
