Man i love this truck I’ve still got my old 2003 Silverado ext cab, it was my first truck after it was handed down from my great grandfather to my father and then to me I’ve never wanted to sell more or less for sentimental reasons even after the fourth 4L60 blew up it although i did have to get a newer daily driver truck but i didn’t really know what to do with the 03 either but watching you plant a big block in it gives me a bunch of good ideas for where i want it to go i grew up turning wrenches with my old man on his hot rods and it might be cool to turn it into a hot rod truck, man keep up the cool work i can really dig it

I remote mounted mine as underbonnet would've been ridiculous work, more effort than it was worth, and the results were amazing. small tip. argon is heavier than air so when you purge your part it is better to put the purge line at the lowest part, then poke holes in the top so the agon fills up the bottom and displaces the air out the top. anything works. this just gives a more efficient purge.

I'm surprised you didn't bring up the minimum inner diameter of your oil drain fitting and an oil restrictor for the journal bearing Turbo... very crucial to the setup. I've gotten three "blown" turbos that just had way too much oil flow to them all I did was clean them up put them back together put a oil restrictor in and they worked great. Always remember 11 mm inside diameter from the fitting on the turbo to the oil pan cannot be any smaller.... .100 nitrous jet works well for an oil restrictor.
@LawrenceTolman4 жыл бұрын
according to what I've read, on the S400 family of turbos, a -4 AN. (1/4" or 6.4mm) is adequate for an oil feed, with no need for a restrictor. And on the drain to the oil pan, I used a -10 AN (5/8" or 15.8mm). But you are correct, the drain needs to be as large as possible to prevent pressure building up inside the journal.
