8/27/2011 Hurricane Irene Virginia Beach

I remember this hurricane vividly because it was the second one I'd experienced in my life. The first was Hugo growing up in Charlotte and that was a monster for us.. With Irene I was an adult and had to react in adult fashion llol. Once the wind got disrespectful we all went to my In Laws big house with a million trees around it.. I drive home the next day only to see a tree on the front porch, blocking the door and another tree smashed the back deck blocking that door.. It took a whole day to cut those two colonial times trees down

9 years ago today. August 2011 was crazy, earthquake on the 23rd then Irene on the 27th.

Irene was horrible when it hit Virginia Beach.It caused a lot of flooding where i lived. It also killed some people in Virginia Beach.

The bird at 1:58 is doing what a lot of birds do during hurricanes. Where I live they all line up and stand there with their wings out against the wind. It's how they survive, it's pretty cool to watch
