Boa noite Mariano. Good list! It’s nice to see Peniche on your list… (but then maybe we should try to keep it a secret, a little longer) 😉. I lived in the Peniche area and plan to return there permanently. I loved the location and the vibe. It’s still very Portuguese. It’s close enough to Lisboa and very central for traveling anywhere in the country. Foz do Arelho is a great location too. Obrigada for the video! Cheers ~

Portugal is a small country with limited sources... We can't accept massive immigration... We also have a severe drought for several years. The wild fires of summer 2022 burn homes, animals, and people. The worse fire in history... Be wise.. Stay in your country.

Hi Maria, thanks for your comment. I think you have a very valid concern, although I would also point that people moving in from abroad tend to (a) pay much higher taxes than locals, (b) spend more money on local businesses and (c) potentially even open business ventures that employ locals. This is the actual reason why the Portuguese government (regardless of political parties) creates incentives for foreigners to move to the country. Having said that, I share your concern about crazy wildfires, but it really has nothing to do with foreigners. Cheers,

The apartments prices are right, they are more expensive than he saying!

Hi Maria! Thanks for your comment. The numbers are based on public property listings published on the site Idealista two months ago (when filming the video). Certainly you can find both cheaper or pricier options depending on where you look at. Cheers, Mariano.

I thought Portugal was supposed to be cheap! The prices you mentioned are the same as in Germany or higher than in other developed countries I know. But anyways thanks for the tips on locations.

Hi there! Thanks for your comment. Totally true, although you can still find cheaper options (€400-600 for a house) in smaller villages or if you go inland, prices in Portugal have surely been on the rise in the last couple years! Cheers, Mariano.

the prices are not correct, the rental prices are much higher.

Hi there! Unfortunately it is true that prices are on the rise, back at the time of the video I can confirm they were lower. Feel free to reach out if you’re looking for a place to rent. Cheers, Mariano.
