Just when you think you've seen it all.. someone out there makes something new out of bamboo. Truly amazing what people can do and the things you can do with bamboo.

Watching each flick of the fingers as the bamboo expertly falls in to line is mesmerising. I've weaved a few things, made a few baskets and trays, and I know enough about it to know just how far away I am from being that adept. It's really a joy to watch masters at work.

Thank you for showing us the skills needed using bamboo. I love hand-crafted items and it is lovely to watch the process. Long may these handicrafts continue.

Everything done with infinite patience, care, and attention to the finest detail. All focus is on the task at hand and quality, not to speed of production. Both mesmerizing and humbling to watch such skill, talent, and workmanship.

The dust does not move as the bamboo shade is swept away. The moon pierces the bottom of the pond, leaving no mark on the water. In Zen terms, this scene is a state of mindlessness. Speaking of bamboo, it brings to mind many Zen sayings. It's always wonderful to see footage of authentic traditional Japanese crafts that use bamboo.

The Japanese will always find a way to make something take 10 times longer then call it art. i saw native Philippines make these in 1/10 th of the time and jut as nice.

Japanese items take longer, but in return they look better and are easier to use, and they last longer. You can't tell just by looking at them.
