It's a bit disingenuous to say that it took seven years for AJ to win the TNA title. The TNA title had only existed for about two years when he won it... and he was a 3-Time NWA Champion in TNA when they had the rights to that championship. AJ won his first World title in 2003. So, to add to your list... Ken Shamrock, Ron Killings (K-Kwik/R-Truth), Jeff Jarrett, Raven, Rhino, and Christian were also NWA-TNA champions who made their names in WWF.

In the Monday Night Wars, Guerrero, Benoit and Jericho wrestled every Monday on Nitro, they had great exposure and great matches. The mid-carders were wrestling each others and having great matches instead of jobbing to the older wrestler. In retrospect, WCW/Bishop strategy was brilliant, they kept their older guys that were drawing money at the and and gave us great matches for the spectators with strong tag teams, great cruiserweight and great mid-cards. I stopped watching them when Benoit left and when Russo came in.

WCW was actually the main reason why The Attitude Era was created. WWF was on the verge of getting put out of business due to WCW Nitro blowing WWF Raw out with their ratings. Vince Mcmahon himself knew that if he didn't go to a TV-14 rating and create the Attitude Era he himself along with his company as well as every single WWE superstar on an active WWE roster today would be working for Eric Bischoff & Ted Turner in WCW.

Neither is paying wrestlers under contract more money to wrestle for you. That's called capitalism. You hire the top talent you can afford if you want to succeed. Hardcore wrestling has been around for a lot longer than that. The first documented cage match was in 1932. Memphis, Texas, and Florida specifically had a lot of wild, bloody brawls. I get that WCW shouldn't have kept Hogan as the end all be all for years after his prime but Hall and Nash were in the prime of their careers. I understand you are younger and your generation of wrestling fans favorite past time is bury wrestlers and companies that you didn't even watch but it's not like Hall and Nash were top guys in WWF for over a decade like Hogan and Savage, their run is headliners in WWF were 4 years. Hate to break it to your hypocritical arse but Nash was younger when he signed with WCW in 96 then AJ styles was when signed with WWE earlier this year. See in the 80's and 90's top stars traded back and forth all the time. The mid to late 90's was the era of guys like Austin, Nash, Bret Hart, Mick Foley, Hall, Big Show, Undertaker etc. and you know what all those guys have in common? They all worked in both companies. So I guess WWE is doing something bad by pushing that old man AJ styles huh? I mean screw the fact that he is in the prime of his career but he's 38 and was a legend in other companies already. You know why our generation is better than yours? Even though my generation weren't old enough to watch Harley Race or Dusty Rhodes or Magnum TA, we didn't sit around and talk shit about them. We weren't there to watch them for ourselves and a real man doesn't judge someone of rumors of someone else told them. We respected them. We respected the legends who did the work so our generation had wrestling to watch. Your generation doesn't respect shit. You just bitch non stop about shit that you weren't even around for. If a wrestling company didn't put on a good product we just didn't watch and we made them get better. Your generation hates your generation of wrestling but like dumb asses you are ya just keep throwing money at them and bitch like lil girls. I hope Adam fires you until your balls drop.

Generico never went to the WWE, and instead has retired to Tijuana, where he has opened up an orphanage and trains the children to be used as weapons in the Japanese based promotion DDT.

As out of touch as McMahon may be today, there's no question that when it comes to wrestling promoters, he may very well be the GOAT.

I wouldn't call WWF's acquisition of Hogan a raid, as Hogan was let go to make room for Verne Gagne's aging friends.

Ironically enough, much of the 1980's talent raid was talent that had previously worked for that company.

And now include Adam Cole (Bay-Bay!), Roderick Strong, Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly among Triple H's acquisitions. And the best among women's wrestlers as well.

The then-WWF turned the AWA into its personal pro wrestler shopping center by the late '80s. After Hogan and Ventura jumped ship, people such as Yokozuna, Curt Hennig, the Rockers (returned to the AWA before the WWF gave them a 2nd chance) and many more followed suit. It was pretty much a mass exodus!

Benoit, Malenko, Jericho & Guerrero had quite a run in WCW at first. Late 1998 and 1999 was when they were not being used correctly, except Benoit.
@brianbenoit68837 жыл бұрын
They had a run with the fans but not so much with the company. WCW themselves were still treating them like mid-carders. It's basically what the problem has been with the WWE for the past few years...they perceive a wrestler's popularity based on merchandise sales(and some by personal judgements) instead of by fan reaction and place them on the card accordingly..

Heres a little tiny raid thats forgotten to history:Bill Watts Raid of Talent from World Class Championship Wrestling to his UWF(Chris Adams,The Fantastics,John Tatum,Jack Victory,King Parsons,Missy Hyatt,among others)Which turnabout being fair play,Jim Crockett's NWA territory snapped up a lot of that talent when the UWF went under to help create what was known to be the Ist version of what we knew as WCW(cause remember,World Championship Wrestling was only one of the names of the 6:05 tv show)
@actionsub10 ай бұрын
That raid started with Bill Watts hiring booker Ken Mantell away from Fritz's employ. Mantell brought those people with him.

AJ won the NWA title, which was TNA Major Title up until 2007. AJ won the NWATNA title in 2003, 2004 and 2005. The TNA title was not a thing until 2007, AJ won the title in 2009 therefore 2 years until AJ won the TNA Heavyweight title but was a multiple time TNA champion before then.

Actually AJ Styles was TNA's 4th Heavyweight Champion, a year after TNA's first world champion, Ken Shamrock. TNA was using the NWA World Heavyweight Title at the time. They didn't have a TNA World Heavyweight Championship until 2007. Saying AJ waited 7 years to get a world title instead of giving him credit as TNA's first Triple Crown Champion is a little annoying.

tazz was supposed to be a top star before the tazz as the ecw champion at time lost to triple h (wwe champion) at I believe smackdown after that it ruined tazz momentum which vince and triple h said was a bad decision. after that tazz drifted into hardcore division then get injury ridden and retired. but the original plan was for tazz to be the badass and one day become champion

I do hate how he does say talent was stolen. These guys received a job offer and decided to accept. None of these companies kidnapped wrestlers and forced them to work for them.
