All I can say is just how amazing My Beardie is. She sits with me for hours while I watch films, study, play xbox, walk around the house. And she actually watches the Telly. She loves Top gear and doctor who, she does not like Heath ledger's joker, she hides from him. Also, if I play metallica, she freaks out, but has a huge love for Fall out boy and Turisas! If she doesn't get a scratch she starts bopping her head. When I got her my parents were unsure of reptiles as they didn't see them as loving animals, now they love lizards and will happily have her jumping all over them too. She misses me when I go away by moping and not coming out for anyone. The do care and they do love. Fantastic pet and again, just so amazing and cool! :D

Sand is actually a horrible substrate, if the dragons ingest any of it, it can lead to impaction which can often be fatal. Other then that, this video is pretty good though.

All I say is they don’t live on full sand in the wild, only sprinkles of it here and there. Therefore don’t keep em on a bunch sand in captivity. If you use it only use a little mixed in with other substrate like eco earth coconut fiber. Or just use eco earth coconut fiber. Many different substrates you can use. Good video besides that!

Don't listen to this guys tips, he doesn't know what he's talking about and just treats them like some kind of display. I mean, look at how he forces them into uncomfortable positions like that, do you think that they like having someone repeatedly tap on their face? His finger is as big as that beardie's head.

Now help me out, I've had a beardie for 6 years now and i love him seriously i really like my beardie i know what to do in nearly everything apart from this, My local pets at home told me not to put them in sand preferebly put them in carpets, Sand can get wet and if they put there foot in it if it hardens up it can pull off their nails and infect them, is this true?

I would highly recommend getting a Bearded Dragon if you're looking for a good lizard. They cam just be fed like a dog every day and they'll sleep for most of their day (at least mine did). Lost my 2 Beardies to a bone disease that was highly uncommon, but they lived a good 3 years before that. 10/10 rating on a pet like this.

I am thinking of buying a baby bearded dragon,I have a few questions I would love to be answered. 1. What's the littlest size tank they can live in? 2. What do I feed them daily? 3.can I feed them veggies one part of the day and then crickets or that food you recommended on your site later that day so I'm feeding them twice? 4.Do I HAVE to feed them mice?
@lewismoore7819

Damian Berryhill your first question they can stay in a 10 gallon but upgrade then when they get older, for your second question feed then one day salad mainly collard greens and the other live insects maybe don't feed then for one day a week up to you they can easily be over feed, for your third question yes you have two

I had a bearded dragon for 10 years. I was bitten a few times, but she never did it on purpose. It was only ever if food wouldn't stick to her tongue, and she couldn't see my finger. It wasn't all that painful, especially in comparison to the pets I have now; cockatiels. They may have small bills, but out of all bites I've ever gotten (amazon parrot, macaw, umbrella cockatoo, african grey parrot, turtle, meerkat, etc.), one of my cockatiels bites is still among the most painful.

+A kid from Africa It means it either wants out of the tank to explore, or is interested in the person in front of the tank. If it wanted to fight, it would bob it's head, open its mouth really wide and puff up its beard. What the other guy described is typical behaviour of a curious bearded dragon.

I'm assuming it depends on how you take care of your beardie, or if you have an older beardie from the start and not a baby, they could come to you a bit aggressive and bite, but also depends on how they were raised before.

Depends, I highly recommend starting with a baby bearded dragon for 2 reasons 1 much cheaper and 2 if you raise the baby dragon it will build trust with you as in wont hiss or bite etc besides they grow up so fast

If you have a bearded dragon that bites, its because of the way you raised it.

Sand is a really bad substrate it can cause impaction, so I recommend a repticarpet or maybe eco earth and rock mats work to but NO SAND

Could a bearded dragon be healthy without eating insects? If so, what foods should they eat instead? I don't own one I'm just working on a short story and the main character has a few. I have a weak stomach when it comes to bugs, so I'd really rather not have my character feeding them to his pets.

Protip: they are less stressful if when you hold them where they can see out, we don't want a stressed beardie

They scare me, but my teenager wants one so I told her I'd do research because I might let her have one but I don't do insects so she'll have to always take care of it and feed it.

"never gonna bite you" lmfao unless you get a male and put your hand in it's cages, its territory and move it around xD my beardie is as sweet as can be outside his cage, but when i put my hand inside his cage he loves to chase and bite lol

I kept my reptile carpet in for my bearded dragon should I change it since he is now a adult
@gianfrancoayala2659
@gianfrancoayala2659 9 жыл бұрын
Owen Hanson you don't need to carpet is a fine environment if you don't raise them on bark or sand they will typically try to eat it which isn't a good thing it can cause digestive problems but there are some sand brands out there that are safe for bearded dragons if you really want to try something else
@papagiuseppe3563

Actually if you get calcium sand then they can digest it easily
