All I can say is just how amazing My Beardie is. She sits with me for hours while I watch films, study, play xbox, walk around the house. And she actually watches the Telly. She loves Top gear and doctor who, she does not like Heath ledger's joker, she hides from him. Also, if I play metallica, she freaks out, but has a huge love for Fall out boy and Turisas! If she doesn't get a scratch she starts bopping her head. When I got her my parents were unsure of reptiles as they didn't see them as loving animals, now they love lizards and will happily have her jumping all over them too. She misses me when I go away by moping and not coming out for anyone. The do care and they do love. Fantastic pet and again, just so amazing and cool! :D

Sand is actually a horrible substrate, if the dragons ingest any of it, it can lead to impaction which can often be fatal. Other then that, this video is pretty good though.

All I say is they don’t live on full sand in the wild, only sprinkles of it here and there. Therefore don’t keep em on a bunch sand in captivity. If you use it only use a little mixed in with other substrate like eco earth coconut fiber. Or just use eco earth coconut fiber. Many different substrates you can use. Good video besides that!

Now help me out, I've had a beardie for 6 years now and i love him seriously i really like my beardie i know what to do in nearly everything apart from this, My local pets at home told me not to put them in sand preferebly put them in carpets, Sand can get wet and if they put there foot in it if it hardens up it can pull off their nails and infect them, is this true?
@claireatkerson752110 жыл бұрын
I don't know about that but it is risky as it can cause impaction. It is advisable to use solid substates such as repti carpet and tile.
@SirJamesIGamerfuzion10 жыл бұрын
for baby bearded dragons never use sand wait till there adults now this is different with everyone for me I keep half the tank with sand and the food section on carpet on a little platform my beaded dragons love the sand and like to dig etc it;s all about personal preference but as stated never use sand for baby bearded dragons
@infamousslayer26509 жыл бұрын
some of the most amazing flooring i have ever come acrossed is White proso millet. It is a seed like material alowing them to dig in it and if they swallow any of it it will be digestesed and cause no impaction and it is also very inexpensive 40$ for 50 pounds of it

I would highly recommend getting a Bearded Dragon if you're looking for a good lizard. They cam just be fed like a dog every day and they'll sleep for most of their day (at least mine did). Lost my 2 Beardies to a bone disease that was highly uncommon, but they lived a good 3 years before that. 10/10 rating on a pet like this.

What do I feed them daily? 3.can I feed them veggies one part of the day and then crickets or that food you recommended on your site later that day so I'm feeding them twice? 4.Do I HAVE to feed them mice?
@lewismoore78197 жыл бұрын
Damian Berryhill your first question they can stay in a 10 gallon but upgrade then when they get older, for your second question feed then one day salad mainly collard greens and the other live insects maybe don't feed then for one day a week up to you they can easily be over feed, for your third question yes you have two

I had a bearded dragon for 10 years. I was bitten a few times, but she never did it on purpose. It was only ever if food wouldn't stick to her tongue, and she couldn't see my finger. It wasn't all that painful, especially in comparison to the pets I have now; cockatiels. They may have small bills, but out of all bites I've ever gotten (amazon parrot, macaw, umbrella cockatoo, african grey parrot, turtle, meerkat, etc.), one of my cockatiels bites is still among the most painful.

I'm assuming it depends on how you take care of your beardie, or if you have an older beardie from the start and not a baby, they could come to you a bit aggressive and bite, but also depends on how they were raised before.
