So how does the item type or number of items affect what you get, or does it? I assumed using a different mix gave different results, especially since they equate the input device with a cooking pot.

A note about Lights - Lights consume power, brightbloom seeds don't, just toss a brightbloom seed on your vehicle instead for free 360 lighting, just be aware of that fact that the impact from the toss will activate your vehicle so prepared to grab the steering stick. Personally I'd say it's worth using your big brightbloom seeds here as the light up a huga area around your vehicle and that's very handy if you're going fast. Sidenote, if you're using wings in the depths toss the the seed on your steering stick or a fan and not directly on the wing, when the wing starts to expire, land, remove the wing, take out a new one and rebuild. The brightbloom will remain on the part it's attached to so a single big brightbloom seed is enough to cover your entire excursion.

Another benefit to adding brightbloom to your builds is, after you attach one to your build, you will be able to move away further from it without it despawning.

Lights don't consume very much power at all though. With my two aircraft builds that I use most, the bird of prey, and the Scorpion, using a light enables almost immediate perfect placement of all the parts with the best angle possible. I can take either of my aircraft and fly from one corner of the sky to the other corner and never use more than three battery. Because, my designs let you self charge the device while you're flying. To make it even better, I rarely use any of my own devices because everything necessary is easily found almost everywhere on the map. That includes fans, steering sticks, and lights.

By the time you’re building the hoverbike (late midgame), you’ll have tons of brightbloom and giant brightbloom. Definitely spring for the giant brightbloom seeds on your hoverbike in the depths. Once you get adept at controlling it you can hop from lightroot to lightroot and activate most of the depths in about 4-5 hours.

That’s super good to know, I’d have expected the opposite and the fans shut down in the water or are just trash. Edit: I tried it and honestly I’m not sure, its definitely not fucked up or slower but I’m on the fence about whether it’s truly faster. I might do a full blown test and and come back with another edit about the speed

A good tip is when using ultra hand, pressing the left trigger will "flatten" the object you are holding. It helps a lot when building

it doesnt necessarily flatten the object..just put it back into the position it was originally picked up in..if it was an item you picked up. So if you pick something up that is all sideways or on a hill..its not a very helpful button.

Not sure if someone has said this already, but that two-fans-one-steeringstick build can hold koroks on the front, as well as you can place giant brightbloom seeds for easy exploration in the depths :) (reg/giant brightbloom seeds dont add weight or consume battery)

•Tip 1 Wings float and the water is a great to take off from •Tip 2 If you put a fan on both sides of the wings tail they will gradually gain altitude without you having to pull back on the controller stick •HELPFUL HINT The fan needs to be attached at the middle to the side of the tail for it to work properly

I found out if you use 2 additional small wheels attached to the rear corners of the first one, and then put the steering stick between those those 2 wheels and ditch the stabiliser, you get a machine that handles very similarly to the unicycle, that can also tackle any hill Link himself can run up. It's become my new favourite vehicle, above even the airbike.

@Benjamin Swiezy I find if you do that, there's nothing stopping the 2 wheels from pitching either forward or backwards, which causes the housing to catch on the ground. Which is fine on relatively flat ground, but in comparison the 3-wheeled version can handle pretty rough terrain just fine, which IMO is well worth the 3 extra zonaite.

20:26 For rocket shield, you can get unlimited supply of rockets at Oromuwak Shrine which is at the entrance to Rito Village (the rockets are supplied at the entrance of the shrine). Just bring all the un-fused shields and fuse each one with rocket. I believe the supply remain even after you complete the shrine. So you can refill whenever you want.

There are a few shrines with infinite respawning rockets, plus multiple places to pick them up in the world. I'm not sure why anyone's "go to" area to get them would be a gacha machine?!

There's a section of the Goron Dungeon with infinite rockets too - I think it's the 3rd level. There's a one-time construct behind a table, but then after you defeat him you can do what you want with the rockets and stuff on the wall. When you take a rocket, it respawns instantly - I love it..

John... -which one is his first name?- anyhow, he also says that this is specifically for Rocket Shields... like right before the time stamp, where you're most liable to miss it. If you need rockets for other builds, then by all means, use the dispenser at Tarrey Town, or the place he suggests, that's what they're for. I just wouldn't use my own to "reload" my shield unless it was an emergency, when I can load up however many shields I have for free at several shrines.

Zonai carts are just big enough to stick 4 Big Wheels on. They're fireproof and small, so you don't need to choose between those two ATV options. And you can use a cart capsule instead of Zonite.

I'd actually say a cannon *spear* is a better option. It fires once for each thrust (if you're spamming Y at least; it only fires once for a charge attack) but you can also aim it using R, and the cannon will fire without you throwing the spear when you release R. Just be aware that the projectile drops like a stone for some reason, more than you might expect.

To anyone that needs this info: I just found a Royal Broadsword, in the depths under Eventide Island. You can get it with ATTACK+10. And it's the regular version, not the "decayed" one. Thanks for reading, hope it helps you.

Pro tip I’m not sure how austin missed, the device dispenser in terry town (like right next to where he built everything) not only has rockets but just about everything else used in these auto builds it’s WAY more useful to go there for parts

idk if someone has already said this, but with the sage spirits, if you wear the corresponding divine beast mask the spirit will wear a mask too. for example, if you have the vow of tulin equipped and wear the vah medoh divine helm, tulin will wear a mask too. this was something i found while messing around in TOTK

hmmm... interesting. I heard somewhere that they "enhance" your bond with the sage, but I haven't worn the masks at all and wouldn't really be able to tell. I'm guessing what that means is that they just appear to wear them, as you've said... but perhaps there's more to learn here.

the yiga clan actually have a schematic for a "super spring" speaking of, it's 3 springs and a stake, keeps it from moving and you can make it level by letting go of it before the spring itself touches the ground

How is it "the only way you can join one piece to two or more pieces simultaneously"? You can stick multiple things to one thing already, I'm not sure what the limit is, but it seems to be quite a lot. The stake is for sticking things to the ground... or a wall.

@@Wendy_O._Koopa If I want to build, say, a triangle, I can attach Side A to Side B, Side B to Side C, and then Side C is already part of the structure and can't be attached to side A. For structures, eh, whatever, the joints are very rigid already. But if, for example, I want a spring to join two parts of a structure to spread out a mechanism, I either can't attach the spring to both parts, or I can't make the main body one piece, and the spring will just push everything apart rather than open something up. I wouldn't say anything that needs that is a terribly practical device, at least not for the effort put in, but making, say, a bird sculpture that flaps its wings, or a stable paddle boat, or a stationary artillery with adjustable firing angle are all made possible by clever use of stakes.

I love trying to find minimalist designs and have spent hours building or looking around world for cool stuff to pimp ride and find new fuse interactions to open up system mechanics. It’s so much more fun and deeper than I imagined. That being said, after building so much there are a lot of things I hope they will improve on in future. Between manually having to drop stuff for AUTO build despite being automatic for inventory monster parts, no real snap/mirror functions, the exploding glass parts wasting resources for every slight mistake, the brutal 8 favorite slots making you choose between saving unique parts or having to manually angle and rebuild stuff from scratch, meanwhile Link controls time and space but can’t keep something still for 2 seconds without welding it to something AND THEN HAVING TO LITERALLY SHAKE IT OFF TO UNDO YOUR 46.5 DEGREE ANGLE MISTAKE THAT SENDS YOU FULL SPREAD EAGLE INTO DIRT. I love love the extra challenge and added depth to exploring with all the unique items from world and a single power button is actually really rewarding and makes you think but some decisions like the manual inventory and limited favorites list seem like it just punishes exploring system. So frustrating when you LOVE something and want to just explore every part of it just to have mechanics tell you “go farm tho” after you spent 200 shiny glass rocks trying to fix a slight drift on the Boo-Gatti 9000. Seems like a lot of opportunities for people to get frustrated and decide building isn’t for them. Still a 10/10 tho, I wasn’t even interested in building originally but the game really makes you FEEL like legendary hero, Bob the Builder.

The Rocket Stone you mentioned at 22:06 is one of the Schema Stone ones - which you get at the end of a side adventure involving the Yiga. So you dont need to fave that one.

One I kind of stumbled upon in Death Mountain, at least anywhere with lava flows, was just putting both a hydrant and a fan (next to each other and facing the same functional direction) onto an igneous rock platform. You travel to wherever you're going with the fan, and the hydrant creates a bridge worth of platforms behind you so you can get back. Add a steer stick if you want; I found that good for ease-of-use.

The best balloon is using the balloon platform and a balloon. Put a piece of firewood in the balloon with Ultrahand (turn it at a 45 degree angle) and light it with a fire sword. 6 Zonai in Autobuild, and your platform won't catch on fire. I'm going to try saving one with the wood in place to see if that works.

If you do two pieces of lumber on top of each other like two layers the craft is far more buoyant and doesn’t have water coming up the sides. Very useful for fishing out chests or taking tighter curves because the water drag is what’s holding link into the curve. It does require more lumber but normally you can find stacks of it just about everywhere.

So I dunno if someone has already mentioned this, but sleds do indeed float. You need to continuously hold back on the left stick to prevent them from nosediving in deeper water. The small board is faster and works better in water, but doesn't go anywhere on land.

Another substitute for Rocket Shields is fusing any bomb to your shield. I recommend the time bomb, since they don't have that many uses. It doesn't damage your shield either! It doesn't give the same height as 2 springs, but it does give some good height.

A spring auto build is super OP in most mini boss fights. Surprised you didn’t mention that. If you place a spring launcher on the battlefield before a Frox, Flux Construct, Gleeok, etc. fight then it’s way way easier. And makes for a fun version of the fight.

10:20 actually, if you hold back on the stick, it will indeed go over water, tho not as efficiently as a build made specifically for water. If you want something bigger, the Stone Glider also works as a boat, and i used one to ferry a korok to Eventide.

Alright, because Austin saw Dinraal come from the chasm, I'd like to point out that I also saw Farosh in the depths. So, if you wanna farm their horns and scales, you probably need to find where they spawn in the depths.

All 3 of the original dragons fly a constant circuit through the skies, down a chasm, through the Depths, and back up another chasm to their sky route. If you can't see them in the skies, they're currently flying through the chasms/Depths :) Edit to add: If you want to farm stuff for weapons, just sit on the dragon you want and ride it (You can cling to them when they dive down a chasm/come back up one so you don't fall off) If their horns/spikes are glowing, you can get a scale/claw/horn/fang from them, they go dull once you gather one and it goes on aprox a 10 minute cooldown. Simply wait for them to start glowing again, and grab another. If you're getting scales/horns, just poke the dragon's body/horns with a weapon and it spawns right in front of you to grab. If you want fangs, you need to hit the underside of their nose with an arrow, and same thing for claws just shoot the feet with bow. Fun fact, if you dive after the claw/fang you can loot it midair before it reaches the ground :D

@@AlaiaSkyhawk Not actually required. The item spawns on impact, but impact disables the tracking light. They still exist, but they're physics objects so gravity will displace them from any angled surfaces, making them even more difficult to locate.

If you don’t mind the slightly bigger cost I recommend the trike land vehicle. Two small wheels on the sides of the controller and one in the back. I find the turning performance is better and it always stands upright.

I came up with the same vehicle on my own, except I had the 3rd wheel in the front instead of the back. After testing the variation you mentioned, honestly, there's no real difference I could argue, it's basically just a matter of aesthetics and taste, and obviously I'm biased to the version I made on my own. But you are right, I would take either design over the unicycle. The biggest selling point is its ability to handle hills - I find the trike is able to drive up any surface Link could run on, and it's much faster than Link, a horse, or the ATV from this video.

I know there are some who might prefer having a horse, just so you guys know you are able to upgrade your horse stats and make it 5 star anything once you find the horse god in Akkala. Cheers!

Quick note on upgrading horses: improving one of their stats from 4 stars to 5 is actually more expensive than improving the same stat all the way from 1 star to 4. For a not-so-quick follow-up tip, if you want a fully upgraded horse that basically handles like the Satori in BotW, all while spending as little time and resources as possible, I strongly recommend starting off one of the two horses in the game that have two 5-star stats from the get-go so you can spare yourself of cooking those 18 meals: * The 5/3/5/2 horse you can find in Zokassa Ridge or Bubinga Forest. * The 5/2/4/5 horse you can find in the northwest side of the Thundra Plateau, or Gogobi Shores near Lurelin Village. For convenience's sake, Bubinga Forest is the place to go given its close proximity to the Dueling Peaks Stable. The one in Thundra Plateau is easier to tame and overall cheaper to full upgrade, but the trip to either the Tabantha Bridge Stable or New Serenne Stable in order to register it is more bothersome given the distance involved and the horse's poor speed, and you can easily mistake it for a 4/3/4/2 horse that spawns in the same area. If you're stating off a clean save file and have an fairly progressed Breath of the Wild save file, there's even a better option I personally went for: import the 5/3/5 horse you can find in Upland Lindor, alongside the 5 speed horse you can find there as well while you're at it. That way you will have a speedy ride right after reaching the surface that can tow Koroks without issue in the latter, and that will allow you to take your time collecting the ingredients necessary to fully upgrade the former.

VERY interesting info about Cannons only doing 12 damage! Very good to know! Probably good against camps full of weaker Red enemies but other than that, I imagine attaching Beam Emitters to your Hover Stones for big baddies is probably more effective & with higher DPS. You also don't have as much issue w your loot getting spread everywhere and/or burnt/destroyed in the mayhem.

Canons have a knock back effect, that's why they are as good as they are, not because of base damage. The cannons essentially shoot out the same remote bombs as the actual zonai devices except they aren't timed. You can stun everything from bokos to larger things like moblins, hinox, and gleeok, but I haven't found the knock back to work on lynels

When I was making the hoverbike I attached the controller to a 4x4 slab with the back hanging off and dangled it off the edge of the material platform. I attached the fan to the back to try to use the auto center feature and, assuming it wasn’t blind luck, it worked first try. Then after removing the slab I attached the forward fan from behind so that it would build facing away from me.

Here’s a tip for light, a very inexpensive way to make a makeshift light for the depths, is to attach a brightbloom seed with ultrahand to a vehicle you’re using, and hitting the seed with a weapon will activate the seed and produce a large area of light for basically free.

The cannon shield is good at starting fires as well. If you wanna get a bow shot on a lynel it can be pretty useful for the uplift.

11:48 a 4x4 board works great for a sea vessel so long as you rotate it 45deg so your fan is at a corner and controller is centered, very stable and nimble.

Okay so if you're like me and eat a LOT of apples, then this is the thing for you: Take 2 golden apples and as many regular apples as you can, and stick them together and save it for Autobuild, then go around Satori Mountain or other places with lots of apple trees and try assembling the build, it will pick all the apples off the tree, and if it's the first time going to Satori mountain you can get over 100 apples, after doing this I have 181 apples in my inventory and I will be doing this as much as possible because I don't use meals too often Edit: I also want to include that I currently have 19 golden apples as well, so if you're farming them this is very useful. You can also do this with any material, maybe use it to collect dragon spike parts or loose Zonaite

I recently learned about the personal flying machine from a friend and while it took some getting used to, it feels like the best use of transportation especially after you get autobuild. Simply because of how flexible it can be: It only costs nine zoniate ore You can attach anything to it (korok travelers, shrine stones, etc) Can reach the dragons easier You can attach more batteries on the sides for extra energy (just needs balancing while flying) If you stick a giant brightbloom seed to the front, you can use it as light for traveling the depths And how it seems pretty cheap for materials with only two fans and a steering stick.

14:28 The reason you constantly have to hold back is because the angle at which you attached the controller. That first configuration is much easier to build and probably the best compact flying machine I’ve found For anyone interested on how to build it properly: - lay one fan flat and rest the other against it at an angle (may take a few tries) - lay the controller flat and then attach the side of the controller to the angled fan -after lay fan attached to the controller flat and attach the other fan to the other side - Make sure both fans are straight across from one another -then you hop on and just hold forward as if you were walking and you’ll maintain a good height, if you need to go up lean back a bit Hope this helps, it is much easier to build than the hover bike

Rather than torches, I'd usually go with regular wood attached upright above the flame emitter for the balloon build. Serve the same purpose like torches, and get this, apparently attached wood would not turned into campfire, but it will stay aflame for the duration of the flight. The downside however, it ascend slower, like real slow. But for early and I think late game, using regular woods will be cheaper as wood are basically available everywhere.

Idk if anyone will see this but something that I found very helpful for the boat build is to have the fan hang off the bottom of the plank underwater like an actual speedboat engine. Now the plank stays perfectly afloat and you can even carry stuff like shrine stones with you

Tip: there is a quest you can get in Lurelin village that involves getting a fishing boat from Tenoko Island. You can use auto build to save a boat if you glue something to it. I made a boat with a fan, steering stick, and sail. In order to get it you have to save the village then talk to the shop keeps at Lookout Landing, one of them will go there and you can talk to him to start the quest.

For the unicycle I like to put the stabilizer on the back up high because that way you actually have clearance and the control stick can just go on top of the small wheel. All you have to do to get on it is hold it right next to you with ultra hand and turn it upright. Then release ultra hand and mash A and you’ll get on every time.

Tip: For the small boat raft. Put the fan in the center on the bottom. It becomes perfectly balanced and floats smoothly on the surface. Steering is also really tight.

When building the flying machine with just a fans and control stick use one of the spike things as a building surface. Stick it in the ground flip the control stick over and attach it to the spike where link would stand and that will hold the stick still while trying to balance the fans. Just remember to grab the spike to shake the part off when you are done and not any of the pieces you want to keep together. I also built a 3 fan + stick setup that i can attach a korok to and it stays balanced. just attach a fan behind the control stick in with the flying machine that has the fans to links sides.

If you look at the center of the fan, you'll see a little circle light on it and has (what looks like) and arrow on it. Make sure you turn the arrow up to make sure it Flys straight.

My "get somewhere quick" land vehicle is 3 small wheels, with a steering stick on the top, that kind of looks like a tractor. All 3 are attached to the steering stick and not each other. I can just walk in the center of it to get on/control it. I suppose it's not quite as convenient as this thing, but it doesn't really use much more battery since small wheels use so little to begin with, and it's stable on its own without a stabilizer. I can also carry things with it. I have both a small and large ATV. Then I have a hovercraft, and the same vehicle as that with a cart instead of the sled. Then I have my 2-fan air bike. Then I have a 4-fan flying machine based on a cart with 4 slanted fans, that I use for carrying stuff around where I need to be able to fly.

15:50. It took me 15 to 20 minutes of work to get that built. I usually build it in the Depths, because both fans and steering sticks are extremely common. And I just recently scored the full zonaite armor, which is a BIG help. I'm now at 8 batteries, gonna have to go down there again for the second 8 batteries, which turn them from green to blue, and I personally can't stand mining zonaite that much.

10:22 I used the same design but with a second fan on the back of the first one and I was able to use it in the ocean. The whole thing was pretty much underwater but it still let me get over to the Labyrinth Island like that. I was even able to stop to recharge battery and get back on.

So I feel like an important thing about vehicles with weapons is something I learned from the vehicle mastery shrine where it takes your gear. The vehicle in there taught me two things. First that weapons auto fire on vehicles. Second don't put weapons on the part that lets them turn anywhere that it can aim through where you are controling the vehicle. They don't care if they fire "through" the player.

Thanks for this - love your content. I do have a question, if you happen to see this. You mentioned you don't use the unicycle for exploring the depths. I'm curious what you *do* use? I've found skeleton horses to be great if I can find one, but failing that I'm struggling a bit to decide what build is best. I tend to like the "two fans and a control stick" vehicle (oriented like a scooter, front and back), since it helps me get over some of the cliffs easier. But I can't help wondering if there's something better. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks!
