After 10 years of struggle, finally i have found Fourier's descendant. All clear as crystal, i finally understand why i did whatever i did.

It was a very interesting lecture from a photographer's point of view. According to the PSF(point-spread-function), will lenses with large diameters produce sharper images for 35mm systems?

In the case of microscope, the PSF is almost diffraction limited, so the larger the lens (higher aperture) the sharper the images are. In the case of a photographic camera, you will face more aberrations (such as spherical and coma) that exist especially at large apertures which will make PSF worse adn limit the resolution.

Why do x(n) is switched to x(k)?..plz anyone explain

Go from basic any signal X(n) suppose to have weighted sum of impulse if signal is infinite sample then you can represent signal as weighted sum of infinite sample that is summation of X(k) del(n-k) where k is running varible ..

Best explanation of convolution

Good explanation of convolution. But about the problem presented at 05:10 Professor Freeman says: "figure out what is the third response of this system to that signal" (05:22). But in fact what he wants is y[3], which is not the third, but the fourth response or output (the first is y[0]). That is confusing. It is only at 06:32 that he states he wants y[3], but he does not notice he asked something differente at the beginning.

In the course site ocw.mit.edu/6-003F11 there's a 'readings' section. There you'll find the book. I think the name is something like Signals and Systems: An operator approach

At approximately 28:20 the slide has a u[n] second from bottom. Is that value 1.0 = 1? Why does u[n some index] disappear and reappear?
@niverio8400
@niverio8400 6 жыл бұрын
I know I am 4 years late, but I will post an answer to your question. The function u[n] is just a function to show that the corresponding operator has only positive values. u[n] is defined as : 0 for n < 0, and 1 for n>= 0. For example in the 27. Minute, the slide shows that the sum value goes from "minus infinity to infinity" to "0 to infinity" because of the u[k].
