This video is about some of the differences between India and Pakistan, two sibling countries that have much in common and share a common history. In this video I talk about the differences that stood out to me.

Hi, everyone! I hope you like the video. In the video, the maps show areas of Kashmir as they are currently administered. Some sections are under Pakistan's control, and others are under India's control (and also China's). *The maps show the current reality, rather than a preferred or ideal outcome.* I know that lots of people from both India and Pakistan will say "The maps are wrong!" Please keep those comments in this thread, because otherwise they will flood the whole comments section. Thanks!

That was completely and perfectly researched bro… A big and obvious difference is that Panjaabi is spoken on a way bigger scale and has over 40 dialects in Pakistan alone whilst there are about 4-5 in India. All of them vary wildly, and some are branching off into different languages (saraiki, hindko, potohari).

As a Malaysian Malay speaker, I agree with your point on Malay and Indonesian. I think this has to do with the fact that while the majority of speakers of Malay are native ethnic Malays, the majority of speakers of Indonesian are of different ethnicities (eg Javanese, Sundanese, Achenese, etc), so there was a whole different kind of influence to be had on these two languages from the people who speak them

As for #3, for completion's sake it should also be mentioned that India has a period known as "The Emergency" from 1975-1977 where Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was able to rule by decree and some rather messed up things happened. This ended after her party was crushed in the 1977 election.

I'm an Indian and I totally agree with your points about the difference between Pakistan and India. I like to say my point of view on both nations that whatever conflicts or disagreement happened and happening now between us and Pakistan is greatly influenced by past and present Hindustani politics. But being a dravidian, I'm openly like to say that South Indian politics is far less concerned about the north Indian border disputes. This has many reasons, mainly geographic and linguistic. Being a democratic nation, India is better in terms of promising citizens right and life quality in South Asia. Pakistan still requires much more effort in their economic sector to improve their citizens better future. Hopefully, may both nations flourish for a better future. 🇮🇳(:♡:)🇵🇰

Not sure if Muslim citizens of India will agree. Their properties and places of worship are not safe although protected under constitution. On top of the right wing mob even the State buldozes their houses without due process. Judiciary takes Hindu sentiment into consideration. Just this week a couple was harassed by Hindu mob when they went to see a movie in Karnataka. If State cannot protect all its citizens then you have a problem. Even peaceful protests are not protected. I admit Pakistan is not the bastion of democracy but unlike India Pakistan is not "the largest democracy "

@@HasanAhmed-ki8yh Racial harassment is common in most countries. But in India it is more visible in the society. You're right, Indian constitution sometimes fails to protect their citizens right. Politics is one of the factors that leads to racial discrimination in many world nations. What we can change is our own mentality towards different religions and casts in a way which we all gets equal rights to live in a given society. It's true that many countries has their majority religion. But we have to remember that India don't have an official religion. We all are born as Indians. If we can't change our society, we can change ourselves. Race is only helpful in our personal lives. In a society, commonality in terms of citizenship and nationality matters. Pakistan constitution is way far from these good qualities of life and Indian constitution is much better in terms of protecting citizens right to live. That's what I tried to mention in my comments, my friend.

@John_Weiss
@John_Weiss Жыл бұрын
Bangladesh was actually part of Pakistan until it split from in in the early 1970s. So it wasn't originally independent post-British-Empilre Also, Nepal was always ruled separately from the rest of South Asia by the British Empire, IIRC.
@Achin_Jain
@Achin_Jain Жыл бұрын
Nepal- British never conquered it. It was always a buffer state between China and british India. They didn't want to join India and no one had the authority to force them. Bangladesh- They were formerly part of Pakistan and fought for their independence in 1971 when Pakistan began suppressing the Bengali culture and people. Kashmir- A direct vassal kingdom under the control of British. Were given an option to choose either of the two or independence. Chose independence for a while until they got invaded by Pakistan. In the end, had to choose India to fend off the invasion and maintain the secular status of their state. Kashmir state had 3 regions and only 1 of those had a Muslim majority. So, because of a really large Muslim population in 1 region(which caused the entire Kashmir region to be 68% Islamic), ceding the other 2 to Pakistan would have been a grave injustice to minorities(32%) of the state. So, to keep the muslims happy, the king at that time didn't join India (which was going to be non-religious) and chose to remain independent. India was fine with it but, guess what people weren't fine with it and invaded? Hope this helped 😊

Yeah, the word you’re probably looking for is _trillion,_ i.e. one million^2, at least in places that use the short scale numbering system, including in English-speaking countries. I know that in long scale numbering (used in much of continental Europe, I believe), one million^2-or a million million-is one billion, whereas short scale numbering defines one billion as one _thousand_ million. And that same number is _one lakh crore_ in the Indian numbering system-because when you’re dealing with numbers, what you want most are inconsistency and confusion. 😆💯🧮

There’s also the difference in landscape. Although, the majority of land in both countries is desert, the south and northeast states are more lush. In addition, Pakistan once had tigers and elephants, but they became extirpated

What do you mean by "beater"? You must mean "better" Even there this is a stupid comment. I am a westerner who has studied Urdu and Persian for 45 years and I love the the languages. I can read and speak it and I love the poetry , but as far as representing the sounds of languages ALL Arabic script languages do not clearly represent some sounds, especially vowels. A study was conducted on world languages and it was discovered that Devanagari-based languages and Korean are the most accurate in the world, in terms of nearly perfectly representing the sounds of the languages. No language is better or worse than another, but some alphabets DO represent sounds better than others. Please do your research.

Comparison done between those who are on equal level. India is a giant and moving forward to do comparison with developed nations. On the other hand Pakistan is in decline phase. By the way you use very basis points to compare anyone can know from google. you should also use fact such as 1 Pakistan is a state sponser of terrorism . It has highest number of terror outfits in world even higher than Syria and Afghanistan. 2 Pakistan' s leaders are very corrupt. even the real head of pakistan (army chief) earn billions in just 5 years of its tenure. 3 Pakistani army select its prime minister 4 Pakistani state kiddnaped their own citizens who talked about corruption and dictatorship and killed them. and many more . the list goes on........................

Didn't Pakistan also hide Osama bin Laden? They wanted him safe from the US if I'm not mistaken. Giving a mass murdering terrorist safe haven is very telling of their government. As far as corrupt leaders go, well.......I think government corruption isn't limited to Pakistan. Seems like this is a problem in every country. People get into power and then are unable to resist the urge to abuse it. Wherever you find a leader, you'll likely find someone who will say they are corrupt. To be fair, both countries have their problems. Aren't most of the telephone scammers in India? Whenever I look at videos of people scamming others in Australia, Europe, the UK, and the US, they are almost always Indians operating in India. Call centers are set up specifically for stealing from the elderly. As far as thieves go, these are the lowest of lowlives. I don't hate either country but I hate some of the things its citizens do.

🤦 Let me point out the mis-info :- Pakistan and India did not fight against each other during independence. They together fought against the British for independence. There were only few major wars between India and Pakistan, which were humiliating defeats for Pakistan. India has managed to defeat Pakistan most of the time. How is it possible that all those 100k Indians were Hindus and all those Pakistanis were Muslims? Khalid ibn Al-Walid was an Arab, not a Pakistani. Also, he died about 1300 years before Pakistan and India became independent. Cavalry (use of horsemen in battle) was used centuries ago. Now, the actual fun fact : @Ibrahim Gamer is high on something.
