I think the horrendous torture she imposed on her kids with her own actions and with being complicit to Jodi’s torture, her lawyer was lucky to get whatever concessions he was able to get. No prosecutor worth their salt would let the mother of these children off the hook. I hope she gets serious time and is not given access to her children. What also bothers me a great deal is how many children experience this level of trauma and torture, or even less, and no one knows. They carry the trauma for the rest of their lives.

I really think that if her son had not escaped that day, eventually they would have been found buried in the yard like Tylee and JJ. I’m still baffled at how so many people went through Connections and no one made the connection that what they were hearing wasn’t right and didn’t report it. I hope at minimum, she serves enough time that her youngest child is a grown adult. But my guess is that she will be let off way too easy. Or, if they impose a longer sentence she will be let out on parole early. I just hope it’s long after the kids are grown and on their own. Ruby Franke is NOT a witch, she is a mormon christian religious fanatic. Like Jodi Hildebrandt, she was publicly boasting about her religiosity and righteousness. Both she and Hildebrandt were held in high esteem and promoted by the LDS church for years, even though both women had many people complain about their cruelty and sadistic practices. All that was done to these children was done in the name of Jesus Christ and the LDS church, and they had MILLIONS of followers who were fans of their religious fanaticism and cruelty. Many here will immediately scream that all this has nothing to do with christianity - but it DOES. And for years, almost everyone looked away and many, many absolutely LOVED it and swore that yes, this is what the bible teaches. This woman didn't practice in a void. There were multiple previous complaints made about her work, and she was allowed to go back to independent practice. That is where a great deal of blame lies for these crimes. Jodi, Ruby, and the State licensing board are all guilty.

AND the Mormon church had her on their "preferred" mental health cou seeing list because she pushed their horrendous beliefs! Eveen after she blatantly violated HIPAA and had a patient expelled from BYU!

Remember where the other two girls were and what they were doing? They were at one of Jodi's other employees "cleaning". It will not surprise me if another set of charges is made related to the other girls. Now that someone is willing to stand up to Jodi, a number of others could happen as well depending on the testimony Ruby gives. Expect civil cases as well.

Agree!!!! That woman had those kids working like dogs. To top it off she acted like she was a queen... like she deserved to have them laboring away....disgusting....

I cannot help but suspect there is more to come simply because they seem to want to go after Jodi. If it was just about what Ruby and Jodi did why bother with a plea deal for Ruby?

Those older girls are completely brainwashed. Praying all these kids get the right help they need to find true peace. 😢

I feel so bad for RF and EF, and all that they have gone through. I hope justice being brought against Ruby & Jodie, brings RF, EF, and their whole family a sense of clarity and a start to their healing journey. Jesse always does such a fantastic job, describing these cases to make them easier to comprehend.

Dropping charges in regards to malnutrition and neglect goes to show that Utah does not care about children if they are willing to let defendants take plea deals.
