Eve has been tortured her entire life. Even as a retired social worker, two of the most insidiously evil acts I've ever seen perpetrated against a child were committed and then shared publicly by Ruby Franke. One was when Ruby held scissors to the neck of Eve's favorite stuffed animal (at a developmental stage during which she couldn't understand it wasn't real) and threatened to cut it's head off. The other was a video of Ruby chuckling on a stage somewhere as she recounted overhearing Eve saying her prayers. Eve begged God to help her SURVIVE. Ruby explained that she "couldn't help" but to bust out laughing at her own daughter's desperate plea to God. Eve has so much to recover from and deal with, but imagining her hearing her mother cackle at her entreaties to survive the ordeals she faced was just soul-crushing. Knowing that poor child resisted medical assistance for four hours on the evening she was discovered BECAUSE SHE BELIEVED SHE WAS EVIL AND DESERVED TO SUFFER breaks my heart. I hope for the very best for that little girl, but she has got a giant challenge ahead of her. 😢

So sick, very, very sick…. Also… I,m willing to bet they in fact threw the child on the cactus…. Instead of having her “jump” on it….

I picked a prickly pear on holiday once, in Greece. Apart from thinking immediately of Disney's Jungle Book, which became an earworm, the pain was excruciating, and it took my sister about two hours, several sinks full of hot water, and some tweezers to get the prickles out. She and I still didn't find every single one - I found them over the next few days. I had to use medicated cream, as well. So I know it bloody well hurts. Like most people, I cannot bear to see a child in pain. This case must be some sort of sexualised psychopathology - I imagine the two women celebrating the pain and fear they caused, in their own special way. I suppose almost every parent hearing of this feels a sort of vicarious pain for those children. That's because most people hate causing, feeling, or dealing out pain - it's how we survive as a species. That, and looking out for people more vulnerable than ourselves.

If she wants the children to heal, why did she scar them in the first place?
@ritamariekelley407711 ай бұрын
I feel very suspicious that Jodi will somehow be able to manipulate the system. After all she had the Mo church stuffing her pockets, helping her to build that multi-million dollar home/house of torture. Those two children would have died were it not for the courage of RF to somehow escape. The church, of course, will take no responsibility. Jodi also needs to be held accountable to ALL of her victims, probably many hundred's of them, in particular, to people like Adam Paul Steed and her niece, Jessi. Somehow, since it's Utah, I don't trust the Board of Pardons. I expect they will be complicit with the church.
@abelis64411 ай бұрын
The church may not take responsibility, but prosecutors may have a different view of things!
@-greentoad11 ай бұрын
The Utah board of pardons does not base their decisions on the LDS church. Has nothing to do with it. If you look at cases in Utah, people sentenced for life, who are on death row, or get so many years, they got what was coming to them and not based on the church. Not all people in Utah are LDS. You do know that right?
@BarbaraMcManus-t8g11 ай бұрын
If you haven't been to So. Utah in the summer, you can't imagine how hot the weather is. This is the arid desert with daily temperatures reaching well above 100 degrees. I know because I lived in the same area that Ruby Franke lived in. Those children will never get over this horror.

The injuries these two poor children have sustained is simply heart breaking. Cactus spike wounds bleed INWARD not outward..and it is REALLY dangerous and it is a LONG and painful process to operate them out. I know someone who accidentally fell in to cactus when working repairs on a house and the hundreds of spikes he got in his body could never all be operated out and they kept constantly producing puss inside and he would have terrible inflammations that were basically untreatable. And the scars left on his body..the whole thing so terrifying and tragic, he lost his life basically and said he often thought it would have been better if he died that day. That alone is... holy crap man, these two women belong behind bars for the rest of their lives. WFT??

I think Jodi's defence lawyer stating her plea was made because she has the kids' best interests at heart is such a ridiculous statement. Absolute BS. So she suddenly changed her entire belief system and miraculously realised that her idealogies are sick and twisted? How wonderful of her to suddenly realise that the kids actually needs to be cared for and their wellbeing considered. Sure is a shame she couldn't have realised it sooner in order to save her niece all the hurt and trauma as well. 💔
@nancyjaynes28689 ай бұрын
@elzannenel4400: I didn’t see any indication that Jodi has changed her belief system. I think she believes that she is a martyr.
