Those children weren't "precious" to her, they were her tools for her "fame" and "fortune" Those children will have emotional trauma for the rest of their lives. She has denied them food, water, and necessities that children need, and she vlogged about it. At about the 24 minute mark of this video, outside the court room, the prosecutor says he thinks the 4 year sentence for Ruby, which would be the bare minimum, is appropriate punishment. If he was not involved in the final year prior to the arrest of Ruby and Jodi, he was absolutely involved in every DOCUMENTED instance prior and assuredly many that the audience never saw. There are many of us that are revolted at the idea being promulgated that Kevin just needs his kids back under his “fatherly care “ for them to heal. He was also an abusive parent. Did anyone else get the vibe that Ruby’s sentencing statement was like an awards ceremony acceptance speech. “Id like to thank dcf, the police department, the prosecution, and the judge. And most of all I’d like to thank god for getting me to where I am today”. I have never heard a statement like that before it was fake and bizarre to me. I've heard this is the case in men's prison (heck, there's multiple KZbin channels that cover the subject exclusively). I don't think it's a stretch to opine it's exponentially worse in a female prison. I imagine there's many incarcerated women who are very good mothers, period, and I'd guess there's an even larger amount of women who love their children (or other young relatives) but weren't t great mothers due to suffering from addiction or other mental health diseases. All this to say, I agree with you 100% and I wouldn't want to be Ruby or Jodi walking through an un-monitored area of the prison.
